I am sure that all of us have seen the new renovations that this wonderful forum has undergone. The old school format will always hold a nostalgic place in my heart, but at the same time this new system is more organized and easier to use. However, I also feel that perhaps the categories are divided up too much, and I feel that there are a couple things that can be combined to keep the simplicity that we all enjoy here at Snuffhouse.
Firstly, I would combine ‘General’ and ‘Off Topic’ and just call it General/Off Topic or General/OT. If there is going to be other categories about snuff, then perhaps the idea of General chat should be considered…more general.
Secondly I would combine ‘Types of Snuff’ with ‘Snuff Reviews’. I mean if we are talking about a certain type of snuff and what it is like, isn’t that also a review of it?
Lastly I would combine ‘Snuff Taking Advice, Tips and Techniques’ with ‘Snuff Accessories’ I mean arent snuff accessories just different snuff taking techniques anyway?
If the above changes were made you would be left with 6 categories:
General Chat and Off Topic
Snuff Brands and Reviews
Snuff Taking Techniques, Devices, and Accessories
Snuff Marketplace and Trades
Other Forms of Tobacco Enjoyment
Snuff House Library (Snuff House Archives)
I think it combines simplicity with organization and I feel that most of us on here would agree, so tell me what you think.
I am normally interested in reading everything that is posted here at snuffhouse. It would be nice if all new posts were available under discussions. As it is it looks like I will have to go through all the categories to see if there are new posts in there as well. I see the categories function as only fracturing the information that I am interested in.

Thats why I am suggesting a condensed version, if this were to take place the only categories that would be frequented on a daily basis would be General and Reviews. There really isn’t much new stuff that comes out for accessories and snuff taking other than the occasional antique snuff boxes for sale on ebay and stuff. Trades are somehwat common for when people get snuff they are not very pleased with, but not much more than that. I think Other Forms of Tobacco should remain separate too because I have no interest in that at all and i’m sure there are others like me who only use snuff.
There just does not seem to be enough traffic here to warrant this change, but what do I know? As the previous poster noted, I also tend to scan through the entire list of posts. For those of us who do this, could we have the option of viewing all discussions with recent posts?
You got this all backwards mate, the suggestion I have put fourth is to condense, not expand the categories, partially for the reason you just said, there is not enough traffic to need so many categories. You probably wouldn’t even need a tab to see all recent posts if they were condensed this way I have suggested.
I’m with Jux and khalid it takes too much running around to find new posts now, all new posts from every category should appear when you hit the discussions tab not just the General ones.
Perhaps the ‘Recent Discussions’ tab should reveal all recent in all categories, yes this is a good suggestion aswell, but the categories should also be condensed the way I suggested because I honestly would rather not sift through a lot of OT boredom and Pipe Smoking stuff that I don’t care about.
I have been on many forums in my life, I don’t see a reason to try to immitate proboards when snuffhouse was fine the way it was. Snuffhouse has a level of simplicity that we all have enjoyed for years.
