Stuck in customs

I am still new to ordering snuff online and everything. It seems that I tend to get my snuff stuck in customs a little to frequent for my liking (what can I do though). at least I am guessing my orders have been getting stuck in customs because I have not received some of them. Anyway, I was just wondering how many of you have had this particular problem?

That’s quite unfortunate. Only problem I’ve really had was once they (Canada Customs) opened up a parcel of mine and inspected it. Luckily for me, each of the tins was wrapped in bubble wrap and tapped and I guess they couldnt be bothered to check out something so small. Nevertheless, its odd that they opened the envelope itself, but not the contents within. Good luck with your shipments. PS: If you’re in the US have you heard of the PACT law? This might be the cause depending on which carrier you used.

Sometimes orders from overseas can take up to 2 weeks or a little more. They may not be stuck in customs, but stuck on a back of a donkey instead.

I am thinking that it is the PACT act. I can’t help but wondering if some custom agent is enjoying some of my order as I type this, lol. It usually works out all right though, and I trust where I ordered from.

PACT is not affecting international orders. It is my understanding that Canadian customs are being a little more vigilant than they used to be.

well I am in Oklahoma so, I think it still affects me.

@joshua, yes PACT affects you, but only in the respect that it has become almost impossible to order snuff in the US. Customs opens a VERY small percentage of the many thousands of packages entering the US on a daily basis. The chances of your particular package being detained is very slim. I regularly order items from overseas, and turn around time has been 3-4 weeks.

Well that is reassuring, lol. I reckon time will finish the story. I just hope I didn’t fall into the small percentage, but as I said I am not too worried about it…yet.

Several years ago, Canadian customs inspected a package of mine coming FROM Canada. It was not tobacco related, but they repacked it rather poorly and it was damaged during shipment.

I live in South Africa and had a couple of snuff packages opened and taxed by customs. But it was only 4, if I remember correctly, over a period of 3 years. Not so bad. I’ve lost 1 package from Toque which never reached me. Delivery time is between 1 week and 54 days!!

I haven’t had any problems with my snuff or snus orders but those were inside EU, so taxes are paid at the point of origin. My friend’s American order was intercepted and he had to pay excise duties.

@Xander/all:I wonder how often that happens – from Canada, inspected by Canadian customs. Canadian customs: definately one of the toughest.

could be that your local post office is full of drunks who eat packages. I’ve known people that have lived in places where the mail was so bad they got a p.o.box a town over because of missing mail. Sad but true.

Roderick. No, I have never had a late order from you before. However I did get my order from you the other day!

My order arrived today. I guess I get a little paranoid with my orders, lol.

Understandable.
