is there a reason why they names it this
A number of the snuff formulas that came out in the 18th-19th Century had names indicating that they were a favorite or the personal recipe/mixture of some prominent people. Princes, Queens, Dr. J.R. Justice, and apparently a particular Prime Minister.
King George II and Queen Charlotte both were avid snuffers and hoarders of snuff, and when they passed, Fribourg & Treyer bought back the snuffs and sold them with the royal prefix, for example “King’s French Carotte”
ahh
Royal George probably refers to George II, though I don’t know if it was a recipe from his time, or if it was named as a dedication to him.
The Prime Minister used to bed chamber maids in the mint patches and often smelled like the snuff of production today. If you believe that I had some swamp land I can sell you. =))
lol
Swamp Land is prime real estate if you want to sell fertilizer to gardeners. I’ll buy a few acres, just don’t tell Wikileaks that Santa’s nothing but a historic Anatolian bishop.
