Storage question.

I’m sure this has been mentioned before but what’s the best way to store your tins that you’re not using right away? I’ve heard lots of ideas but what’s the recommended way? Fridge/freezer? Dark & dry cupboard? Mostly for unopened tins, longer than a couple weeks… Thanks for any comments

Unopened tins I say the driest place in the house where the temperature is constant. There are some snuff that will rot right through tins and aluminum. I recommend decanting snuff into air tight glass jars. But it your money do what you like.UK artisan snuff in the freezer.

@basement_shaman is absolutely right. If you have artisan snuffs, move them immediately to dark glass (amber or cobalt) jars and keep them in a dark place with a steady climate. If they are artisan (current artisans being Sir Walter Scott, Abraxas and Old Mill, primarily) put them in a fridge or freezer, though I add putting even those in an amber jar. Yes, moist and artisan snuffs are high maintenance. Maybe that is why most snuffers eventually go for the fine and dry tobacco flours.
