Stoker's Dry Snuff

Well I received my order of Stoker’s snuff tonight by UPS. I got 2 pounds each of Plain & Sweet. I probably would not have ordered both because of cost but Pedro is splitting the bill with me for a pound each. I only have tried the Plain so far. Let me tell you that I am relieved because it is very good. I was a little worried if it would be real good or just good. The closest thing it compares to is Navy, both in color and texture. The taste is very similar but the Stoker’s seems to be a little cleaner & smoother, very easy on the nose. Not a big difference but enough to notice. Very good quality and I’m very glad I made the purchase. Each 2-pound tub is equivalent to 27.82 or the 1.15 oz cans. So basically your paying $1.18 per can. If you like Navy this is definitely a more economical way to go in the long run. Since the avg. can elsewhere is going for around the $3- $3.50 a can. I will let you know how the sweet is when I try it. I threw in a 1.15 oz can in the pic so you get an idea of the size.

What wonderfuly authentic snuff. It is indeed very much like Navy Scotch and Navy Sweet Scotch, but the scent is more pure and simple. It smells of tobacco only with the distinct smokiness of a scotch snuff. The sweet is far above any other American dry sweet snuff I’ve tried, the sweetness is subtle and not overpowering like Garrett Sweet & Mild. I think each are very fine examples of premium American dry snuffs.

Reviving an ancient post :smiley:

Any of this still floating around? I don’t get the sense that this is still manufactured.

@ cpmcdill Why don’t you try and contact Stokers. Maybe they will start up production for you.At least give you some history on the product.They may have a tub back on a dusty shelf. I always wanted to get a few tubs of their moist snuff. but can’t seem to wander too far from copenhagen and skoal.
I do enjoy their apple and fred’s choice leaf chewing tobacco.I used to get at lil browns when they shipped to PA.Their products have always been the best bang for your bucks.

@basement_shaman I just might try doing that. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.

Where is that agree button?

I miss those buttons.

@basement_shaman,  @cpmcdill

“Where is that agree button” /

I agree

I have some.

Stokers was bought out and ceased snuff production.

@cstokes4, like totally ceased, or did someone take up their recepies? Might their snuff be manufactured under a different label or something like that?

RJR bought Stokers out right around the time PACT went into effect. The only product lines that continue are the chewing tobacco and dip.
