Stitch's Snuffburgers

Here’s a nice little oddity from the ever industrious Brother Stitch - desolve in the mouth snuff pastilles (or snuffburgers). Dark brown lozenges maybe twice the size of an aspirin, lightly flavoured with aniseed. I believe the body is made up of various pulverised snuffs. They actually look like a little piece of cannabis resin, for want of a better description, and dissolve slowly in the mouth over maybe an hour. Quite a nice little article, no spitting, a little drip feed of God’s precious nicotine and ultra discreet. They would be great for flights, at work, people who can’t snuff/dip/chew/smoke at work openly (Cops, people who work in burger bars, that sort of level of individual). As with his snuffs if they were available I would buy them. lets hope he gets into business soon… The closest comparison if anyone in the UK remembers them are the old ‘stoppers’ tobacco pills. I know one of the US companies makes a ‘hard’ snuff lozenge - which I’ve only seen on the net - but they seem to look like medicine, whereas these little chaps look like tobacco. Or cannabis.

Snuffster, thanks for your kind comments. Any resemblance to cannabis, hashish etc is unintended. It might be a plus in certain smoke shops here. I am flattered that you would like to buy them. Of course I am not in the tobacco business, so they are not for sale. I am looking to co-develop this product with the right corporate partner. My purpose in sending out some free samples is to get a sense of how these might go over in the marketplace. If your reaction is the norm, I will negotiate from a much stronger position. To ejacerooni and others here who would like to give me your honest opinion, i have six sample packets ready to go out this week. Your only obligation is to add your taste experience to this thread. That way, whomever is monitoring the results can see I’ve not selected only the favorable reviews, as I cannot edit or control what is posted here. The first six people to email me at aztopstitcher@gmail.com requesting a sample will receive from this week’s allotment. There may be future offerings along these lines, but no promises. Even if you miss out this time, your name and postal address go on a master list and any future free samples will be offered in the order of the names received. Your personal information will never be sold or otherwise revealed to anyone without your expressed written consent. Thanks everyone for your interest and support. I look forward to hearing from you. Stitch

Hello Stitch, I sent a request. I hope I made it. Thanks

If you do get into business at some point, maybe you could have promotional stuff with you holding a can of 'burgers, that way people would assume the product is being endorsed by Mr Dreyfuss. Just a thought…

I can accommodate a couple more people with samples; sending them out tomorrow.

Interesting concept - i have crudely tried to make a mouth tobacco out of normal nasal snuff - i just added water until the snuff turned into a kind of puttee but after a short while in my mouth it started to disintegrate leaving snuff partials all around the teeth/gum line :frowning:

Many thanks for those who wrote; samples have gone out this morning. Look forward to hearing from you.

Coool, gotta check the mailbox!

Some envelopes were returned to me today. Apparently the automatic sorting machines read my return address and ignored the sending addresses. The envelopes were resent, and you should be receiving them, barring further stupidity on the part of the post office. Apologies to Matt, Paul, and Jeremy.

My review on the SnuffBurgers. These SnuffBurgers are great. About the diameter of an M&M, but thinner. Very nice flavor, anise with a drop of honey. The binder is very good, the lozenge keeps together for over an hour, even when I float it around and rub it like a hard candy. The grind is very fine, so very few break-off pieces are detected. No bitter after-taste or raging thirst later like with snus. Very refreshing with the anise aftertaste lasting beyond the point when the lozenge finally dissolves, and it is pleasant! A very gentle flow of nicotine, will not turn your gills green, in fact, I would prefer more nicotine. I hope Stitch produces these commercially someday, I’ll be truly bummed when I run out. I have never tried the other dissolving tobacco pills available in the market, so I can’t compare these to Stitch’s product. Cheers!

I received my sample today. Thanks a lot. The think I like most is that they aren’t really bitter at all and don’t give off a bad taste in the back of the throat like say oliver twist can. I’ve never used any dissolving type tobacco products before, but I enjoyed it and it didn’t have any negative effects on my stomach or anything. It has a great flavor, I mean its almost like candy. It dissolves in a creamy way. Its a cool product, but it’s probably something that i would use occasionally and as a conversation piece with other tobacco lovers - Not that that is a bad thing, not at all. Very creative and if you start selling them let me know.

Thanks everyone for your evaluations. I have been working on upping the nicotine, but my initial attempt - adding twist tobacco - proved quite strong enough, but too bitter. I could increase the size, and therefore the surface area or tweak the pH up a little to increase the rate of absorption. Or I could reduce the amount of binder so it would dissolve faster, but last a shorter time. Which approach would you recommend?

I haven’t really been in the mood for using tobacco orally over the last week so I have only tried one and don’t have anything too interesting to say about them yet. I also felt they weren’t strong enough, in flavour or nicotine. The only similar thing I have used is Oliver Twist Original which is strong, dark twist tobacco with a strong liquorice flavour which I really like. I wouldn’t change the size - that is just right. Maybe the binding, mine stabilsed after maybe 10 minutes and pretty much didn’t change for the rest of the time I had it still behind my lip. I did like them, I would certainly buy some, I’m not sure whether I would use a pack a month or a pack a year but buy them I would! Especially if there was a variety of flavours (extra strong in other words).

can someone post a pic of these I would like to see what they look like.

They look kind of like a tan blood cell. Or if you prefer, a sphere, smashed down in in the middle.

I would go for a shorter ‘life’ and more nicotine. Enough nicotine is the single most important factor for me
