Well it seems I’ve conquered my earlier difficulties and can now snuff w/o getting it in my sinuses/lungs/throat. But I find that the stuff still somehow manages to migrate into my throat after a few minutes where I end up expectorating almost as if I were using dip. Anybody else have this problem? Is my particular anatomy perchance to blame? Am I still doing something wrong? If I could get this prob whipped, I’d be well on my way to being a true snuff fiend as I like it more and more, but this situation needs sorting first. Help?
Blow your nose or take snuff that doesn’t have unpleasant drip.
I think this is one of those things that just takes time. It’s a little different for everyone, so you just need to keep trying different things to perfect your technique.
Also remember that pinching is no speed/power snorting contest! I sometimes spend so long time sniffing, that when in public ppl think I’m just picking my nose and being disgusting :o)
@wildwilliam, I’ve been snuffing for more then 2 years and it still happens to me sometimes. Nothing wrong with that.
Viking, that advice just opened a bit of a new door for me, thanks. Ken
Thanks all. Yes, I now take my time sniffing and do it gently enough that it will sta in the front part of the nose. Nothing in my throat for the first few minutes, but then it seems to just want to go there on its own initiative, that’s why I was wondering if it might just be the way I’m built in there. As to blowing, can anybody take a stab at guessing the average amount of time folks let elapse between sniffing and blowing? I like to let a good 15 minutes or so elapse to get the full advantage of the taste and nicotine, perhaps I’m giving it too much time?
Only blow when you feel the need to. You’re nose will let you know. Most of the time, I can go hours without blowing.
Cheers, upanddownbruin.
My favourite snuff is NTSU, a very coarse, moist SA snuff which is almost impossible to sniff, so like many others, I put it a pinch in my nose, then squeeze my nose to keep it in place. Sooner or later I clear my throat, spit into a paper handkerchief and there are grains of snuff big enough to count. They were not sniffed so how did they get there? All the snuffs I have trieds creep down the back of the throat if given enough time. The yanks snuffs are mostly superfine in uk terms, so presumably they just dissolve and colour the mucus so its not that noticeable. Some of us notice and some of us dont but I dont think anything to worry about.
A lot of these things are down to the individual make up of a person, but having said that snuffs do tend to behave in different ways. I think part of the fun of taking up the hobby is isolating that bunch of snuffs that do it for you.
I would like to blow lungs full of Levi Garrett in your faces and shove my nose in a pie full of South African Gwayi while you are all distracted by my antics. The funny part is on the blow. Butterflies, butterflies everywhere. Give me about a half an hour or I might sneeze. Wait! What was the question?
That must be some kinda good snuff there Juxt!
I think someone spiked your snuff Juxt
