I order Sternecker Echt Fresco 100g on Thursday, only to be notified last night that it was out of stock. What would a good alternative be?

No it not. If you want anything close to Sternecker snuff, it should be any other (besides Ungefettet) Sternecker snuff.

No it’s not… But IMHO its the best schmalzer… Soft in the nose… Delicious sweet aroma ( not to sweet just right… Maybe fig jam hearty sweet dark aroma ( not best at describing )

Südfruct is not really typical of a schmalzler. Its ridiculously sweet. Only recommended if you have a sweet tooth or want to feel like you are drowning in banana puree! If you can’t get Echt Fresko, then get Fresko. After that I’d recommend Pöschl’s Perlesreuter Walder-Fresko. Then maybe the Sternecker Straubnger or maybe the Bernard Fresco.

The Pöschl Schmalzler A is pretty good too. Not over-sweet.
