Stainless Steel Snuff Spoon on Mr. Snuff

https://mrsnuff.com/store/stainless-steel-snuff-spoon-p-1538.html

I just got my order from Mr. Snuff. I’ve recently gotten into Fribourg & Treyer, so I decided to buy a new snuff spoon. This is awesome. It’s probably 5 or 6 inches long (10-15 cm). Plus the actual spoon is a little bigger and flatter than the usual snuff spoon. Plus it’s really only a few bucks more than the tiny ones from ebay. I usually pinch and have found other spoons to be cumbersome/messy. This spoon is the best. I can only think that not enough people have made this community aware of the clear awesomeness of this particular snuff spoon for it not to be more well known.

G

Just curious , what is the benefit of using a spoon , in contrast with pinching and back of the hand ?

T

For snuffs that come in deep, narrow tins such as the Fribourg & Treyer range, spoons are pretty handy to get to the snuff after it’s gone below the halfway mark, and when you’re using moist and coarse snuffs like German Schmaltlzers it’s a lot less messy to use the spoon and either snuff directly from it or tip some onto the back of your hand. I think the use of a spoon might have been a way of distinguishing upper class snuffers from lower class snuffers originally.

My Mr. Snuff order came with the complimentary spoon.  I didnt see it in the package so I thought I was ripped off… which I didnt really care.  But then I saw it taped to the invoice.  This spoon is hilarious!  If I ever offer any snuff to anyone I will force them to use that spoon.  Its the only way to do it “authentically”. Awesome!

Thanks Mr. Snuff.

B

shit. I thought mine got lost somewhere in the packageing. Damn it.

J

Yeah, theres a red square of tape holding it on.

B

Darn it.

E

Struggled to find mine at first too. My first attempt with a spoon was also my first attempt at a White, incredibly silly idea! bam! Brain full of cheetah!

B

I miss my spoon and this technicaly means I’ve lost two spoons. Well probably.

N

I lost my free mr. snuff spoon before I even used it.  Found it on the floor a couple of weeks later and have attached a bent paper clip to it so I don’t lose it again.  Might have to get the bigger spoon next time I order.  Don’t normally snuff from the spoon but pinch from it since I don’t really like the idea of sticking my fingers in the tin and every time I take it from the spoon it just hurts like hell.

B

Love spoons,  gets it right up there without making a mess,  Like a precision operating instrument. Great for loading my snuff boxes. And a lot safer then a Bowie knife. No bad method for snuff ,I pinch, back of hand, off the thumb nail.

There was a time I used a rolled up dollar, I even seen little vacuum cleaner shaped snorter. Those free Mr.snuff little spoons are awesome;  hang them on the  holiday tree or make ear rings for your gal.

J

I didn’t even try to use the free gift spoon. I was actually a bit irritated when I got that because I specifically did not buy a real snuff spoon because I thought that I was going to get one for free a few orders ago.

Idk. I typically do not use a snuff spoon, but some snuffs are difficult to pinch due to the container or due to the consistency. The other snuff spoon I have was so messy that it didn’t help much.

But this spoon is shaped like a dental tool or something. It makes it much easier to use.

J

I tried using my key ring but the hole wasnt large enough. So now its on a large clothes pin… the metal kind.

I use the back handle of plastic forks and spoons(Dairy queen spoons have the biggest back end nook).  I picked this up from a bad habbit used to have…

J

Yeah. I used to use the opposite sides of whatever silverware was closest by on snuffs that I could not pinch. But I needed something that could reach down into snuff containers.

A

I bought one of these spoons

H

@johnnyfriday : same here actually (for both unfortunately), but I use the spoons from “Lunchables” that my kid eats, the little red spoon. The spoon’s good for filling up my snuff bottle and the back it good for bumps straight from the container, and since it’s for small hands, it’s more stable to grip, which is good for someone like me who doesn’t have the steadiest of hands.

J

Awesome.  Keep the culture alive.  The legend of the backspooners lives.

B

back spooners sounds dirty to me.

J

Everyones a critic Bob.

B

and I’am a perv so…

H

A good perv can make anything dirty, so I can’t blame you, lol.

B

I should have underlined the me in the back spooners comment.

J

Always so selfish when backspooning. Its always ME ME ME with bob…

B

I am whats I am

T

On a serious note, if you want a nice snuff spoon, antique salt or mustard spoons are perfect.

B

yeah I had one it was a fish and it was awesome and then I lost it some where. and haven’t really had the cash to justify a frivolous purchase in a while.

T

Having just lost my snuff spoon I decided to treat myself and bought a solid silver 1914 salt spoon. A snip at six quid!

J

thatd be a doozy of a snuff.  The howitzer of snuff spoons.

M

That spoon would be perfect for putting it in your snuffbox, or on the back of your hand…  Or for blowing a hole in your head.  Either way, very cool :-)

V

The stainless steel snuff spoon is amazing! I use it with my schmalzlers all the time, I am ordering a spare aswell.

T

Handy for the F&T tins.

G

I have and use several (to my thinking) very nice metal and bone spoons. They all stay at home on my desk. In America we have a place called Baskin-Robins (Ice Cream Shop). They have little plastic sample spoons which I use for away from Home.

S

I have the stainless steel spoon from Mr. Snuff too and it is wonderful quality, I highly recommend it if you are considering a spoon, best bang for the buck for sure.

B

Reviewed this one back in august 11.When I was heavy in the schmalzler.Mention it in weapons of choice. So nice I bought it twice.I am back to pinching again,Going to hold on to these beauties and just may tape them together with a spacer between and hit both nose holes simultaneously

S

The price just increased by $2  :-( still worth it though.

C

Ive found the small plastic spoons from a bottle of calpol to be quite handy.

M

I love the long stainless steel spoon from Mr. Snuff! Might have to buy another 2 or 3 :)  Has a nice heft and feel of quality, much like a dental tool.

D

I’m a snuff spoon fan; that’s how I originally used all my snuff. Normally now I pinch, but for some stuff that I want a particularly small amount for example, a snuff spoon is perfect. I have lots of them, and a couple of favorites. I really like the looks of the stainless snuff spoon; may have to snag one of those one day soon. Thanks for turning us onto that @jazzi_mike!

S

Ordered my second one this week, note: don’t try to pry tobacco tins open with snuff spoon it bends, Damn it. Got lucky and didn’t break it.

D

I have a tiny little spoon that I got from Mr. Snuff at home, but at work I use a strip that I cut off last year’s season pass to my local nascar track.  The other portion of it is great for setting up lines.
