Does anybody use the stainless steel bullet? I use an acrylic one for mild snuff like Q-snuff. I tried using stronger snuff (McCrystals) in the acrylic but it dispensed too much (blew my head off). Then I tried McCrystals in what is called a “metal bullet” at first it worked well giving just the right amount. Unfortunately, it is badly made and the hole in the loading screw does not always align with the hole in the hopper. Sometime it dispenses a full load, sometimes a half load, and sometimes nothing at all. Hopefully the stainless steel bullet is better made. But what I want to know if: does it dispense a large amount like the acrylic or a small amount like the “metal bullet”?
The stainless Steel Bullet by POSH is probably the best made and solid of any that I have seen. Well machined so although I suppose it is possible to cross thread, it is not easy. Much easier to use, just a twist and sniff without all the inverting and all. It gives a nice size load. It works well with drier snuffs but if you try to use any of them with the moist blends they will ‘gunk’ up and just not deliver properly. So am I a ‘bullet guy’? I have a dozen or so from various manufacturers, and although the POSH is by far the best of them, I tend to either pinch or use a spoon. Just personal preference I guess. Good luck in your quest for the perfect delivery system for you.
I’ve got to agree, I use my two Posh bullets (the chrome-plated brass version) daily. Given the correct snuff (not too fine and not too coarse/moist) they work great. They are expensive, but should last a life-time and are well worth the expense. I, too, prefer to pinch or use my spoon, but when out of the house the Posh bullets are the answer for discrete, portable use.
Hi Stogle, Where can I get a stainless steel POSH bullet? The ones I have seen are all brass with chromium plate, or painted in primary colours.
Hello mecompco, Are you concerned about metal contamination? I tried a brass with chromium plate snorting tube. After a couple of days I started getting a metal taste, which overwhelmed the taste of the snuff. Think about it. Cutlery these days is made of plain stainless steel, its never painted or plated. This is because human saliva is a powerful solvent which will, eventually, break down paint and plate. Nasal mucus is also a powerful solvent, which I believe was breaking down the chrome and/or copper in my snorter.
Well @logicalfrank, I stand corrected. It is not really stainless but brass as you stated. Did not mean to ‘fib’. The plain silver colored one (not the colored ones and I do not know why) is the one I was referring to. It is hefty and seems to be more solid than the colored ones. Cannot speak to breakdoen/oxidation due to contact with the nasal passages, but I have not seen any evidence of same.
Hi Stogie, Perhaps you have a very dry nose. Its all a bit confusing because vendors use metal names for paint or plate. A silver bullet is not silver but painted in a colour that looks like silver. There again, you can buy a silver snuff spoon which is genuine silver. Now I am looking at the aluminum POSH bullet, but I do not know if its aluminum metal or aluminum paint. Thanks for the comments anyway.

I can’t say that I’ve noticed any metallic scent to my snuff. These are heavily chrome plated–the only part that isn’t is the bottom of the screw. Well done chrome plating is incredibly strong and wear resistant (hey, they plate the bore of M16 rifles (and others) with it to eliminate wear and corrosion). I’ve seen the cheaper aluminum Posh bullets advertised but have no first-hand knowledge of them. I have a cheap aluminum bullet and even being raw aluminum does not seem to impart any metallic scent to snuff (at least for me).
Time for my monthly order, so I included the stainless steel bullet. Its only 20 dollars so if it works as badly as my metal bullet I will not cry too much. It will take three weeks to get to me here in the jungle. I’ll write a review when I get it. Ta Ta for now.
Been using the stainless steel bullet for a week now. Nicely machined, unlike the “metal bullet” which was crudely cast. Works well. I have used it for toast and McCrystals without problems. With these it dispenses the right amount for me. Tried it with Abraxas cafe 11. Worked well the first time but clogged on the second loading. Tried with Q snuff Irish coffee but it did not dispense enough of this weak snuff. Early days yet. I was pleased with my acrylic bullets and my metal bullet at first. But now they are in the trash.
Stainless steel bullet holds about one gram, which is not very much for a heavy snuffer. Easy to reload using a a one gram vial. So I carry one of these on a day out.
Glad you’re enjoying the Posh bullet. I never leave home without my two and I’ve also pretty much retired my aluminum and acrylic bullets (though the acrylic on from Toque works pretty good and I sometimes carry it for backup).

Actually, its not the POSH bullet, but the Stainless Steel Bullet at Mr Snuff. Looks like, and works like, a normal bullet but far better made. I gave up the acrylic because I found they became smelly after a while. My aluminum bullet didn’t work for long.
OK, I get it now. Have not tried one of those. Nice to know that they work and the price seems fairly reasonable.

Yes, mine has been used a lot for the last ten days and is still working well. However, the turning mechanism/handle is starting to come loose. It is held in place by a rubber ring that has to fail eventually. The question is how long will it last and can it be replaced? I will update this page when I find out.
Those o-rings are the weakness of that style bullet. The acrylic I got from MS failed within a week. I tried replacing it, but never did get it to work correctly. One more good thing about the Posh design is no o-rings to deal with.

Your are right there. My o-ring just failed after less than two weeks of using the stainless steel bullet. Fortunately, I had a box of of assorted o-rings that I got from ebay five years ago (had the mad idea of fixing the bathroom tap). Cheap enough and I found one to fit. Now its working well again. But potential purchasers should be warned: with the stainless steel bullet you not only need a good supply of snuff you need a good supply of o-rings as well. Its a fiddly business - like taking care of a petrol cigarette lighter. And yes, the no o-ring design is definitely a point in favour of the POSH bullet.
