I’m looking for some input from the experienced crowd, or anyone’s 2 cents really. A lot of us noobs haven’t seen the warmer weather and how it will impact our snuff taking. Today the temp hit the 70s in NE Ohio and I’ve already noticed a few changes, no more cold drippy nose for 1 thing, I do miss the coat pocket snuff storage, I can see some cargo pants and shorts on order for the Summer. What else should we expect or be wary of ?

mould. if its humid of course. and dont put snuff containers in back pockets.

I was wondering about that, particularly if your snuff is stored in the basement.

On the back pocket thing I was hoping to get a 10g size “cope ring” on the back pocket of my jeans

well sitting on a tin is very uncomfortable i find, so much so ive left a couple in pubs as ive taken it out and forgotten… and stuff like toque tins i reckon might be too weak. i suggest you avoid opening tubs near mould prone areas, keep things clean etc… i couldnt bring myself to store anything in a basement unless its been prepared for purpose haha.

Box car comes in handy, the snuff don’t stick to your nail.

Yea I’ll boxcar sometimes out of a tap box or even a bullet. I like that it gives a looser pile some fine snuffs will press into a flake from the pinch.

Cargo shorts are good, pockets are essential. You’ll need more hankies too, so carry an extra. I find I have a more runny nose in warmer weather. I also tend to take more menthols when its really hot. I wouldn’t worry about mold in the least unless you are dealing with some special snuffs that are not protected with salt. Wood snuff boxes are going to swell more, so put your tight ones away and get out the loose ones. Indeed hands will sweat so boxcar method may be handy.
