I put some Golden Pinch snuff in a bullet, got a really strong scent/taste of anise or licorice. WTF? Tried some from a spoon, just a floral kind of scent. Anyone else notice the difference in how a snuff comes across depending on how it is sniffed? Sort of like the difference when tasting wine by aerating the sip as opposed to just drinking it…
Might have to do with how much and how fast it hits a certain area of the nose. Kind of like how each section of the tongue has specialized taste buds for specific types of flavors.

What kind of snuff was in the bullet before? Anyway, I find that bullets don’t allow snuffs their full taste at all.
@Xander–it was some really old Peach, no anise in it at all, an aluminum bullet that I cleaned out pretty well before loading. I generally don’t use bullets except when I am out in the real world or driving (neither of which I do all that often). I was just surprised that a flavor I had totally missed showed up.
@Mouse What is this “real world” you speak of? Also, I get the best flavor using the back of my hand or the boxcar. I think it has to do with how much it’s spread out when you sniff it.
Thanks, Harlequin. That seems to be the consensus so far; I’ll give the boxcar method a try next and see if it makes a difference vs. the spoon. As to what the ‘real world’ is, I’m, not too sure, but it seems to be populated with tense people driving cars that are impractically large, and they apparently don’t use snuff or smoke pipes. Go figure…
This “real world” just sounds terrible. Why on earth would anyone want to live there? You’re welcome though.
Real World That was on MTV,I despise staged reality shows. I use a shovel when I can’t pinch; can’t spin that bullet to get my dose fast enough. And they empty so fast.
oh god how did we get to the ruiner of television? The show that made the comercials the most creative part of the television hour.
What happened to the days when people used to watch tv to escape reality? And people wonder why I like anime…
They still do. They just go so far into escaping reality that they now believe the term reality t.v. isn’t an insane term.
Toque Peanut Butter Bullet just doesn’t ‘work’ for me; but the tin with a spoon is fantastic. Nice ‘n’ slow is better than a blast here…
I prefer using a spoon to dip the snuff out then I use the “boxcar method” to ingest it.
pinch
Spoons are for that last bit of snuff you can’t quite pinch. Bullets are for when you can’t buy snuff anywhere

Very interesting… you must have a very unique lifestyle.
I never use bullets, they really suck. I use my stainless steel spoon when I am at home and use my stainless steel turn tin when I am out because I prefer to take snuff off theback of my hand, the turn tin is no good for pinching.
After reading this I might have to invest in a better spoon and go back to the roots and use the pinch and the back of my hand instead of my bullet all the time
