does anyone else here have the prolem of your throat hurting because of back drip like its gone dry
?
Never. You might be coming down with something.
its like the back drip dries there and irritates that area
Is this your first experience with tobacco? If so it might be irritating you like you are thinking, but if you’ve used any smokeless or smoked before it might be the start of strep or some other inflammation being exacerbated by the drip. I dunno, stay hydrated and if you get a fever get checked out. Best of luck
You should not be getting any drip with nasal snuff. Nasal snuff should wind up in the nose and not go into the throat or sinuses. If you are talking about drip from snuff then try sniffing more gently and/or try something moister and possibly with a coarser grind. If it helps it’s just part of getting comfortable snuffing.
i vant seem to get the sniff down
Try smelling the snuff like you were just trying to get a whiff of something before you eat it. You definitely don’t want to breathe it in. What snuff(s) are you trying to take?
@Snuffbox - No drip with nasal snuff? Wow, you must be very lucky as I get this quite often (and I’ve read many posts here and elsewhere regarding sinus drip with snuff so it seems to be pretty common). Not all snuff causes drip for me, but the worst offenders are Schmalzlers and many of Old Mill blends. Both of these are moist and do not make it very far up my nose. Still they produce loads of mucus that head toward both exits of my sinus cavity. The front exit is easily cleaned with a handkerchief. The back drip I generally flush with whatever liquid I happen to be drinking.
@jeffcraft1: As I stated above, I normally flush any back drip by drinking liquids. Also consider that during the colder months, forced air heating is drying out the indoor air and stiring up lots of dust. Both of these can cause throat / sinus irritation. So increased hydration will help. One other suggestion is to gargle with a 50:50 solution of warm water + apple cider vinegar at the first sign of a sore throat. It might take a few treatments, but this normally does the trick for me.
Wet a Q tip and swab your nostrils before you snuff. The snuff will stick and stay in place. Blow your nose before back drip. Being fully hydrated is also good advice. I drink 8 cups of water daily in intervals = 1/2 gallon. I gargle with warm salted water to sooth sore throat . I’ll have to try the ACV 50/50 next chance.
ok, my ability to smell snuff seems to be comming back slowly
