Creating a website is something I’ve always wanted to do but thought it to be much too difficult for somebody with such limited computer knowledge. I had some free time though so I figured I’d look into it and see what I could create. The Snuff Review is the site I came up with, it is a pretty simple site which I plan to use to share all of my opinions on the various snuffs. It also has a page that links to the online shops you can purchase from, as well as a page that links to the truly great snuff related sites (like this one) out there. Other than a guestbook, guestmap, and an interactive poll it is just a site to read snuff reviews, at this time I havn’t added any, but within the next few days I hope to have a few up, and just steadilly add as much as I can. here is a link to my site http://www.thesnuffreview.bravehost.com/index.html I hope Alex won’t mind me posting it here, if you prefer I do not mention my site here feel free to take this post down. If it is already, I must have missed it…if not, I think it would go well with what you’re doing. Also, as a fan of Levi Garrett, I too would hate to see Lil’ Brown left out. Yes, Lil’ Brown is the only place to buy Levi, Honest and Red Seal. Not to mention they sell the Poschl snuffs cheap.

Alex - Thanks for the ideas and encouragement. Mo & Ausmike - As far as making the site interactive, I do not want to open a forum, as I truly believe the ones we have now are already great and for the most part are visited by the same people. But I would like to allow for others to provide feed back on the reviews. So I am thinking of opening a simple forum where you don’t need to sign up, but rather just leave a name when you make a post. If it pertains to a particular snuff I will add your comment to the review page of that snuff. As far as writing all the companies, it’s definately something I had not thought of. Although it is going to take some time for me to acquire all the snuffs. I’ve always felt silly asking for a freebie, maybe after I get more reiviews and established I will try to make some of the companies aware of the site as maybe it could be of some use to them as well. As far as google, I don’t know what I would need to do to start showing up in their search engine. If anybody knows I’d appreciate you sharing with me. I’m thinking maybe I need to purchase the domain name and drop the .bravenet but I’m not sure. Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions and for visiting.

Poo-Diddy, You can add your site to Google by using their Add URL Page! And if more snuff related sites have a link to you that will help your site be more recognizable under a search. You can do a google search on how to get recognized by more search engines. Just type in: add url, and you will see info on how to get on Yahoo etc.

Ask some of the snuff stores if they would be willing to have a link to you?

Ausmike - On your suggestion I went ahead and added a simple interactive forum where everyone can share their opinions on already reviewed snuffs. I think it will work out well , at least I hope so… Troutstroker, thanks for the help with the search engine stuff, I will try to get mine added now.

Thanks for checking it out Filek, I will keep plugging away at reviews as I have probably close to a total of 120 different snuffs on hand already and really enjoy doing the reviews. With work and a pair of sons though freetime is often limited, lol… Also that is wonderful to hear that the chat room feature is being utilized a bit, I had hoped it would help guys be able to have some real time conversations without having to pay long distance phone charges. Finally I added gawith.go.pl to my list of snuffsite links also, its a great site

Yes Filek, it has been very fun putting the creative juices to work a bit. I don’ want to tie myself into feeling like I have to make a certain number of reviews each day or week, seems like the average is about 3 or 4 anyways. I think it will take a long long while to fulfil my dream of trying every snuff and reviewing it anyways. My pleasure adding your site, and thanks again for the well-wishes.

I can never log on to this, and get weird message boxes when I try. I am an IT dummy so won’t understand any complicated responses, but anybody got any ideas? My computer works for everything else?

Well try this hot link below. If it doesn’t work, tell us what the boxes say. Also you can try adjusting the settings to allow cookies for that site. Or try a different web browser. If your on Explorer, try Firefox which can be downloaded free if you don’t already have it. Firefox Download, you can choose the language you want and for what operating system. Troutstroker, I havn’t checked the search engines lately to find out if I am being linked by any of them yet. Overall, I apologize for the lack of updates at the site these past couple weeks. As everybody knows we all get too busy to work on our hobbies sometimes. I’m on vacation for a couple more weeks, so I should have plenty of time to start getting more reviews up again. Snuffster, I have no idea why you can’t get to the site, it seems strange to me since this is the first I’ve heard of anybody have troubles. Hopefully Troutstroker’s suggestions will be able to help you out.

Ok,thanks. My problem is not having a natural interest in computers/games, the web etc. I just use them for writing reports at work and reading this site and a few others. Plus, I have the world’s worst memory. I was once sent on a very expensive course to learn how to use a bunch of mapping and analytical packages. It took me a while to live that one down, what a waste!
