Hey All. I’ve made some snuff starting with a burley base to which has been added a bit of latakia. I’ve got it ground to the consistency I’d like and am trying it make it a peppermint snuff. But when I add the mint stuff it tends to clump up and not mix all that well. Is there a method to get the flavoring well distributed? Also, the stuff I’ve got is an extract containing oils of peppermint and spearmint, propylene glycol and alcohol. Is there anything there I should be wary of putting up my nose? Thanks eh?
I would reccomend pure peppermint essential oil instead: Peppermint Essential Oil at Snuff Gear.com
The pure essential oil might be too strong for a beginner to use directly. There shouldn’t be any problems with the ingredients you listed. You can rub your already flavored snuff through a wire sieve several times until you get the flavor evenly distributed. Use a small stiff brush to work the lumps though the sieve. You can also spread the snuff out on a cutting board, mix it with the back of a knife and use the flat of the blade to rub out the lumps.
Thanks a lot for the insights. I’ll have a look and try the sieve method. Ta
