So, I just dipped Honey Bee

Never chewed tobacco and only tried some original Copenhagen when i was like 13…
So my main, almost only, form of tobacco consumption is nasal snuff.

Today, I was snuffing some Honey-Bee and decided to try dipping it. I didn’t have any small sticks to do it like down South so I just grabbed a huge pinch and shoved it into my bottom left-side cheek.

Well, it was interesting…Tasted really good, and wasn’t too messy actually. I couldn’t really tell if I got a buzz directly from it, as I was already on a snuff binge a few minutes before :-). I don’t think i’m really into oral tobacco use but it was kinda fun to try. I have some Makla that I need to find time to do. That will probably kick my ass…
Anybody use these old time American Scotches like Americans do?

Haha nice, I mentioned trying this in the “Whatcha chewing, dippin, snussin?” thread not long ago.  My experience was the same as yours.  As someone who does dip (and has half a heart to quit), I just had to try an American snuff in my lip.  It was much more pleasant than I figured.  Though it tasted better and wasn’t as messy as I imagined, I probably won’t bother with it again.  I put things in my lip mainly for the nicotine, and the Honey Bee seemed kind of weak.  I snuff for the enjoyment of the tobacco, so I’ll reserve the Honey Bee for my nose.

@SeanOCDPx, ya I snuff for the enjoyment too. I figure my nicotine tolerance is just about even with my constant snuffing- high enough that I don’t get dizzy from alot of snuff by just low enough that I do feel the nicotine effects, pretty nice balance.
Honey Bee is wicked mild. The opposite of this, for me, would be quickly smoking a fat Macanudo. Those make me intoxicated for sure

@jmahes, sounds like you have the ideal nicotine tolerance - that’s more around where I aim to be.  Motivation for quitting the dip when that time comes.

I’ve dipped Honey Bee and Tube Rose before and actually prefer them as dip rather than snuff. I tried dipping Superior and find it much better as a snuff, it tasted pretty bad.

I dipped Bohica ,it is much more enjoyable in the lip. I had dampen it first so it would stay put.

ive been hitting the garrett sweet in the nose and the backdrip is delicious so i just had to try dipping it. I must be doing it wrong because i took a generous amount in my lower lip and it turned to mud. it tastes good but how the heck do you keep it from turning to slime and oozing all over your mouth? i sometimes use Cope and Griz mainly for the Nic when working in my yard. what am i doing wrong here?

sorry had to edit for spelling. was really bad.

My thoughts @Chicago_CA… find the smallest pocket in your lip (for me it’s front & center), try to have your mouth dry as possible when you put it in, and maybe try a bigger dip.  I think a little mud is unavoidable, but when I took out my dip of Honey Bee, it still had a powder core.

Edit: I’ve been dipping entirely too much for like 15 years, and my method of putting it in felt so damn newbish - but it’s an entirely different deal.  I pulled my lip out with one hand, and dumped a spoon full in my lip.   It worked for me.

i’ll give it another go with the spoon i think once im not as irritated with it. seems like it would be quite nice if i can get the technique down. tastes really pleasant and the nic delivery is good. guess it takes some skill…thx @SeanOCDPx

@Chicago_CA, SeanOCDPx, i used a spoon and pulled my lip out as well. only way to keep it from migrating into mouthwash
