I just placed an order from Northerner for the following snus… Odens Extreme 59, Extra Strong Loose Snus General, Loose Snus General Extra Strong, Loose Snus Thunder Original, Extra Strong Loose Snus Thunder Frosted, Extra Strong Loose Snus Has anyone tried these and what are your opinions of them?
Love both of the General and Thunder Original. I’m not sure if you like minty snus, but I’m not a fan of the Frosted. Let us know what think when you receive them.
Will do… I haven’t seen anyone that has tried the Odens yet… I’m really curious to try the Odens Extreme 59!
i like offroad frosted, which is apparently the regular nic version of thunder. havent ordered from northerner in awhile though… they dont stock my favourite, odens cold. odens extreme doesnt show up when i search their site either though…
the thunders and the general I like the other I find o.k… I don’t get general often because with snus the price doesn’t seem to match the quality.
One thing about Northerner that I’ve noticed is that it seems like EVERYTHING is out of stock! My order probably would have been double what it was but most of what I was interested in trying wasn’t in stock. I don’t know how often they update the site but for the last few weeks I haven’t noticed any changes… My biggest problem with most of the online Snus distributors is that the shipping is crazy expensive. I was going to order a Prismaster from www.buysnus.com which was only $2.00 and it had 28.00 shipping charges. I know this is coming from overseas but damn it’s not like I’m having a car shipped to me or something!
All good snus. The Oden’s line is getting better all the time. The 59 is cinnamon flavor, but the sweet side not the hot side. I’m not a fan of most mint snus. Two exceptions to the rule and Frosted is not one of them. Great snus, if you like mint. General Lös, extra Sterk adn Thunder Original are all going to have a similar flavor profile. Tobacco mostly with varying levels of citrus/bergamont.
Never tried any of the new Odens by GN.
All good snus, the Oden’s is close to perfect as is the General, thunder original is good and if you like spearmint (without sweetness) you will like the frosted. I myself don’t like it but its still a good snus.
I think I had the Oden’s 59 in portion last week. It was good. Flavoring was mild which I prefer. I finished it so I can’t double check the can but it was cinamon. My fav is Prima Fint los, but for work I use Etten portion. I prefer straight tobacco so far but I order a few flavors each time to try. I order from Snus Central for the selection. Shipping sucks though. I wait and order a bunch and freeze them.
Just got my first order from Northerner… Everything seems good except that the Oden’s 59 Extreme that I ordered was replaced with Oden’s Original. I contacted the Help Desk to see what to do because I was looking forward to this one more than any of the others! :((
I received a smallish order from SC last week. I got a roll of Oden’s Lakrits op and a variety of ten different cans, the only from Swedish match being Grov op, an occasional favorite of mine. The big winner so far is the Skruf op, good tabaccy less salt.
I’ve forced myself to resist opening more than one can at a time. I’m going to finish the Oden’s Original first and then try the Thunder Frost. On the plus side Northerner has shipped me out a replacement can of the Oden’s Extreme 59 that I was supposed to get. So I’m happy with the customer service they offer!
I usually have 2 or 3 open at a time and have had as many as 6. If curiosity gets the better of you go for it and try the Thunder Frosted. It was a staple for me when I was quitting the cigarettes. Just keep them in the fridge and it will be fine.
I have to say I’m hooked on snus… I’ve had some in my mouth almost non-stop since I got my order. I’m really loving the Oden’s Extreme at the moment. I’ve tried a number of American smokeless tobaccos over the years and I can’t think of any that I’ve enjoyed as much as this stuff. As far as the nicotine I have to say that I’m glad I got the Extreme. I was never a “heavy” smoker but I smoked Drum Halfzware Shag, non-filtered for about 5 years now and that stuff packs a punch in the nic department. So I’m really happy I went with the high powered stuff to help curb my need to smoke. That’s more than I can say for most American smokeless tobaccos I could take a dip of just about any of them and still want to smoke while it was in my mouth. Not with this stuff!!! I think I have mastered making a good prilla now so I’m not getting as much breaking off in my mouth after 5 to 10 minutes. I think I was probably packing them too tight and causing them to break up in clumps. Now I just put a lightly packed pris up there and let nature take it’s course… Still trying to master drinking a cup of coffee with it in my lip but I’m sure I will figure it out. I’m pretty sure that my body functions almost entirely on caffeine and nicotine anyway…
