Can I dry out swedish snus and sniff it?
I’ve never tried to that. I don’t believe you could hurt anything by doing so. I’ve thought about it though. Let us know how it was if you try it.
Why should you want to do that??? Swedish snus contains as the ingredients say: surhetsregulerande medel and fuktighedsbevarande medel. That are artificial ingredients to regulate the acidity and moistness of snus. Snuff does not. Do you want those in your nose??? Just use snuff and snus separatly as they should and don’t mix them up that’s my advice. The smell of snus btw is like of old laundry. Not really a pleasure to the nose.
I’d imagine that if you got a white dry portion you wouldn’t need to dry it at all. Oden’s Cold White Dry might be interesting.
Yes, you can snuff snus. After drying. The issue is you lose most of the scent while it’s drying. Dry snus isn’t that much coarser ground than snuff, the moisture (@50% ) makes the grains fluff up.
Laundry @Salmiak? Mine smelt like tea.
Why bother drying it just get a few portion bags and shove them up, what’s the worst thing that could happen.
All snus used to be dry and snuffable, Pope Leo the somethingth loved Ettan. Swedes would cook it into moist snus themselves on the stove.
Dit it, still doing it. I found that the back throat feels… sweet! I tried plain homemade cigar snuff and the throat hit was harsh but with dry out snus it’s not harsh at all. Also found that cigar snuff (not that high in nic) mixing with dry Onyx makes a great bergamot snuff. Cigar snuff itself has a citrus, bergamot flavor (at least my cheap cigar does) and mixing with Onyx makes it better and long lasting. You suck on snus, I don’t see any problem on snuffing the ingredients on them.
@Salmiak Yes, snus contains some ingredients that snuff does not, but as you suck on snus I don’t see any problem on snuffing them. They are all food grade ingredients after all
I adore Copenhagen Snuff, If I could grind it ultra fine I use that, but only if it’s moist. I did try it totally dried out and it lost the flavor. Mostly I go for unflavored snus I have plenty of snuff for the nose. But if it came down to it I’d use snus in a pinch.
