We have just launched a new version of snuffstore Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. We really value your opinions so if you have any suggestions or criticisms of the new look and functionality, please let me know. Many thanks, Dave www.snuffstore.co.uk
that snuffstore link just links to this page. copied the wrong URL? just a heads up haha
Hah! You are quite correct. Try this: Snuffstore
Initial impression is that it has a very clean, uncluttered look. Easy to navigate though in fairness I did not follow through to the order page. I like it (but then I am generally easy to please!)
A great improvement, very much like the overall style of the page.
Yep, just logged in and it looks good to me.
I like it. I like the access by brand, instead of having to go through origin of country first. The spacing on each page as you open them makes it easier to get a better feel for each snuff. The photos of the products are updated and fresh. @stogie said it best… it has a clean and uncluttered look. Will there be any conversions for the American dollar added or will prices only be listed in Euros? What’s the story behind snuffstore vs. mr. snuff? Why would I place an order with snuffstore vs. mr. snuff?
Is it ready to be tested, @MrSnuff?

On Snuffstore they were always only listed by brand, all down the left hand side. Well, there’s always going to be a dissenting voice, and I suppose it’s going to be mine. I liked it as it was, as I found it easy to navigate - I’m not keen on pop-up listings and things, but I suppose I’ll get used to it - I’ll have to! I’m glad to see the back of the “excuse us” tags you inherited from the Love’s where snuffs had no write-ups, though - are you going to add the write-ups and reviews back in as you go? I notice there’s now a 1.99 low-order fee, but haven’t been able to check if there’s still a free 2nd class postage option, as there’s a fault with the code when going onto the next page (on the Samuel Gawith listing, anyway) - trying to go to page two I get this; https://www.snuffstore.co.ukdir_wss_http_catalogindex.php/samuel-gawith-snuff-samuel-gawith-25g-c-52_125?page=2&sort=2a&osCsid=fde4a8c056cccd066faddd10e193ae51 - which seems to have something missing just after the .co.uk, and my computer won’t connect.

I’ve never seen snuffstore before, and was comparing to Mr. Snuff. I still don’t understand though. Mr. Snuff is posting about another snuff retail website that has the same inventory. Is snuffstore just a second Mr. Snuff with a different name? Will Mr. Snuff shut down when snuffstore is up and running? Sorry, again, I’ve only been around since March.
Also curious as to the difference between snuffstore and mrsnuff ? I’ve ordered from both, but both came from the same place, both with a mrsnuff invoice. I’m not too bothered in any case, just curious!
It looks much, much better than the old version. I have not checked through the entire site but on the Bernards first page clicking on 2 or 3 or Next gives me Page Unavailable. The same thing happens with WoS 10g tins.
As far as I know, Snuffstore was started, and run by, a couple called the Loves, but they sold it to Dave, who already ran Mr Snuff, but decided to keep the website going. Although the website did look a bit basic I liked the way all the brands were listed down the left in alphabetical order, regardless of where they came from, cos I like simplicity. There was also a ‘new in’ page showing latest acquisitions, which I liked, It’s possible that’s still around though, and I just didn’t spot it! Sounds like it’s not just my computer having trouble with moving onto other pages.
“I notice there’s now a 1.99 low-order fee […]”
Ah, the same fee that mrsnuff has. I wonder what’s the limit that takes my order to more acceptable level for the merchant, anyone know? I know it’s only two bucks, but it really rubs me the wrong way.
Thanks @lunecat . I just checked my recent small mrsnuff order of $20.30 (excl. shipping) and it had a $1.50 Low Order Fee added. EDIT: Apparently the limit is $30 for mrsnuff.com, and ten quid for the snuffstore.co.uk
I’m now getting an ‘invalid certificate’ message from my browser, with a recommendation not to visit it. I need some more SG Black Coffee snuff!
Just visited the site via the link in my ‘20% off’ email, and it all worked fine, no certificate warnings. and all the pages load up ok. The free 2nd class shipping is gone, but whether that’s permanent or temporary due to the 20% off deal remains to be seen. My biggest order yet, though the saving I made was chopped in half by having to pay for postage! :))
we have had the low order fee on both sites for at least a year. We had to do it because as you know we hire the services of a pick and packer and there were so many oneses and twoses it was killing us. It costs us £1.75 for the first pick then 25p for each one after that. I hate doing it but it is better than the business dying a slow death. It switches of at £20 not £10 though. I changed the FAQ. Thanks @lunecat I am open to suggestion though.
@MrSnuff , that certainly explains the need for the added fee, I had no idea how it worked. This was possibly my first small order because I didn’t know about it. The new snuffstore site is a huge improvement, IMO.

I’ve just had a look at a couple of 16 quid orders I’ve made, one from last month and one back in June, and there’s nothing added there, but maybe it was a tenner then. Out of 18 orders I’ve made since taking up snuffing again in 2012 the lowest was twelve quid. I seem to have been ordering more often, too - a couple of times a month recently! This was supposed to be a cheap past-time… :)) I got the warning about the certificate again when I put the URL in my browser, but not when I got there via the email. Might well be something to do with my browser, which is Maxthon. Apparently it’s the most popular browser in China (less so in the UK cos no-one else I know has heard of it), but it’s also the only one that works well with my ancient computer!
