since I saw the Thai and Indian herbal snuffs at mr. snuff I was wondering what other herbal mixtures would be suitable for snuffing. Today I walked against a Ras al Hanout spice mixture at our organic store nearby. Bought it and it smelled lovely. So I gave it a try and snuffed a tiny pinch. It gives a very hot burn in the nose making you feel what your nose is made of. It’s just if you stand in an old fashioned kitchen above the pots. Even after blowing the nose the scent and burn stays for long. The mixture is North African and I don’t know if folks put it up there noses over there. But for me it was like magic. The burn isn’t that hard any more when you get used to sniffing this. It is too like Thai and Indian snuffs both relaxing, calming and stimulating. The mixture I have was completely grown Biodynamic. I have been looking for this longer, until now I didn’t find any biodynamic tobacco or snuff. You must be inventive these days… The mixture I have is from the brand “Het Blauwe Huis” and consists of cubeb, anise, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, allspice, cayenne, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg, white pepper, galanga and pink buttons.

Hmm, delicious Ras el Hanout, one of the best spice mixes around, and makes great cous-cous! The thought of snuffing it happened to me before, but I’ve never been brave enough…

Might be interesting to mix it in with some Toque Quit or another neutral snuff.

yes @JakartaBoy , that’s a good idea. I will try a mix with St James Parish Blend tomorrow (the only “neutral” snuff I have at home).

I have lately made lots of curry and of course always sniff my mixed spices. It is just too heavy with all the peppery stuff, so I do it mostly without them

@Salmiak‌, I have to say, I find the idea of using St James Parish for such an experiment slightly sacrilegious. It’s unscented, but not really neutral. I’d try to get some Toque Quit or something like that.
