I am interested to know how comfortable you are snuffing in public places. Would you do it anywhere? Do you have any fear or apprehension that people might think you are partaking of illicit substances? Personally I have no problem snuffing just about anywhere, particularly with my snuff rockets/bullets. Clean and effective (no nostril drop-out!), although i sometimes hesitate taking a big old pinch of McC on airplanes. The problem comes when you have to snort on white tissues; I generally now carry chocoloate brown cocktail napkins (which were near impossible to find, so I bought about 50 packs of them when I finally did).

How do you explain to people who inquire about it what it is? Nasal snuff, the original method of using tobacco. As snuff was common, people gave cigarette smokers a strange look just as you did. 
In Germany everybody knows what snuff is, so I never have to explain what it is. Of course, people still ask why I use it.
Very interesting comments. Thanks for the input. My bullet/rocket sometimes gets some double-takes. Yesterday while passing through security at the airport, I emptied my pockets into the tray. It so happened I was getting the ‘super’ search, so they were swabbing my bags and computer to put in their electronic sniffer. The lady took a long hard look at my little snuff rocket sitting in the tray, quick glance at me, but said nothing. The problem with rockets is the association with coke in the USA. Sometimes I am a little hesitant to use it for that reason…but the thing is it is BY FAR the cleanest and easiest way to take a snort. Great in the car too because you can do it one-handed (with a little practice). The result is I alternate between a good old pinch, and my selection of rockets. I use about 8…I keep losing them then finding them in pockets in jackets or I misplace them in various rooms… but also i keep a selection of favorites: current selection is McChrystals; Dholakia Ganga; Poeschl Apricot; Smiths Prince dark.
