Some already noticed, that Snuffhouse.org is not fully restored. I have a backup of the database which I will use to restore the data. But first, the server needs to fully recover. I’ll let you know as soon as we are ready.

UPDATE: Looks like the hardware of the server crashed. My host is moving everything to another server and restores the data. Looks like we lost 2 weeks of data. Parallel, I am working on a host change.

2 weeks of conversations… wow. Oh well, I’m sure that at some point we will talk about the material. (I can’t remember what we were talking about) Friday and yesterday were sad days…

It seems we have lost the ability to upload pictures. I have been trying all evening to upload, but I haven’t been able to.

@toffeenose I loved that show when I was a kid. Where is Lee Majors anyway? Makes me miss Farah…

@leman: the server has no writing rights which means we can’t upload at the moment. You are right.

Rats! Just back from a couple of days working in Edinburgh and it look like my snuff classification thread has vanished. I read but didn’t have the time to reply to the comments from Xander and PhilipS (thanks guys). Suffice to say, some good thoughts there and I may well change things to reflect those comments as I remember them.

My Dholakia Limited thread is gone. That was a lot to do again. If anyone wants to know about them, ask so I don’t have to redo all of the reviews.

All my posts are gone now I have only been a member for like 2 weeks! Oh well, least I have back my snuffhouse

Hoorah, my login works again! I made my account less than two weeks ago. Thanks Alex or whoever was responsible.

I receive emails again. Until today the email-server wasn’t available. Next step: database control.

Well, it looks better now. Is everything back to normal?

I am still fighting for a data backup younger than 2 weeks. This night we will know if we get back 2 days (before crash) or stay with the lost 2 weeks.

OK. We are not getting back our data. Even if, we would destroy all the entries made since the crash which probably would do more harm then help. I am sorry for the crash. The next step is setting up a daily backup on my site (as the host seems not reliable). In the near future, we will move to another host. Ihope that’s ok for the most of you.

Let me know if you need a place. I have a fast and reliable server with daily backups, etc. etc.

oh yeah, and it would be free of charge of course.

Its very sad to lose that peice of snuffhouse. There were a lot of interesting discussions going on, and a lot of new people were joining in.

I contacted all of the people who got lost during the crash. Most of them re-registered. We already got more members since before. @slartie: Thanks for the offer. We will see.

I get it too, but it goes away if the page is refreshed. Also the site was down this morning when I tried to get on.
