When I was a newbie to Mr.Snuff Store and wasn’t sure what I would like. I tried his snuff wizard. Some picks were Ok others no so. I tried reading reviews but most compared this snuff to that snuff that I never tried. I feel us, as the snuff community we can be more informative for the newcomer when writing reviews. Sure it takes time to share your experience and every nose is different,Just be truthful.Scent ,color ,texture, moisture,grind,all important factors. If the stuff is over rated say so ,if it for the experienced user state that. Also if you don’t have anything nice to say I believe that is welcomed why you disliked it.This community is growing and I admire every snuff user that has pioneered there way threw the ever growing sea of snuff. It’s not about the penny’s you get off future purchases or promotion for your favorite snuff maker, once you write or video a review it is now history;For future snuff enthusiast can navigate selection guided by a real Snuff Wizard, YOU

Snuff Wizard doesn’t work for me. I choose Tobacco, Other, Sweet = “There is no product that matches the search criteria.” If I choose ‘fruity’, I get one result, Apricot by SG.

I just have to look around instead and see what each snuff has in it. There’s nothing worse than trying to avoid menthols and then opening a tin of snuff and that’s all that’s there. I’m surprised snuffs don’t have ‘menthol’ written on the tin if it’s in there as it’s so strong. No companies seem to do that.

At least we have the Snuffwiki now so you can see what’s in each snuff.

But what I was getting at was [snuff for dummy’s reviews].Simple, honest, easy to understand explanatory reviews.

Written for that newbie can make a informed choice ;from a living snuff wizard not some computer generated program that may or may not be pushing some slow moving stock.

Ermtony would not hold still for all of the cranial implants necessary to get the Wizard fully functional. Shame that, really…

Why not have a panel of human snuff wizards instead of (or as well as) the virtual one? That way you could get genuine opinion rather than a set of defaults based on an algorithm. I’m sure the snuff wizard has its uses but you can’t beat the human touch, especially with something as subjective as taste.

You could maybe have five or so wizards who are from this forum, sampling for the forum? If you have access to pre-release samples maybe they could try them first. I don’t think the wizards should be ‘appointed’ though, I would say they should be voted in by the forum. If there is any interest I will keep this as a sticky.

Snuff wizard of Mr Snuff is a sympatic tool for new items interested on snuff,after,to be continued…It should be continued then.

 Surely the point is to experiment and explore the products on offer.Unless you are buying Pounds of an untried snuff the whole point is 10g or 25g of a new flavour or 2 with each new order?
I try to buy one new snuff each time I purchase my regular fix.I know this can lead to rampant TAD , but I have been surprised and let down too, with the disappointments still getting used up ( albeit slowly).

I have yet to find a snuff that is completely useless or unpalatable.

Furthermore my ideal snuff is not going to be yours and although I like moist grinds exploring the differing styles means I remain open to new experiences.

The panel approach would work well but each “Wizard” needs to be subjective and post their favourites as an indicator to their preferences.

I think the panel has to be the choice of the members; I would be voting for the most prolific reviewers/posters not necessarily people that have been taking snuff for ever. This is nothing to do with me btw, so I’m bugging out now.

@ Mr Snuff, PM me with your email address, I have knocked up a quick G Doc I can share, it might serve as a template to share with the WIzards.I can then share the template with you.

It covers most things, I think it needs but, more columns can be easily added.

Sharing the G doc is simple from the store web page and authoring can be controlled from the Share feature within G doc.

As for the search facility it is down to a simple filter operation by the user, these are controlled by the categories, some would be unlikely to be used to search but the Key drivers to find a style and type would be of benefit I am sure.
