As to the title, I was just thinking while 6 photo Cheetah dissipates in my nose; I would be stuck with W.E. Garrett Sweet & Mild and maybe find the occasional… wait for it, W.E. Garrett Scotch these two, about ten minutes drive. It would take about an hour to find the super crusty dried Gawith Hoggart or McChrystals and the Poschls, well I haven’t made it to the proper tobacconists since I read about the Poschl pull-out so I don’t even know about the Poschls. What would you fellows be stuck with? I’m loving the SG tins by the way (Mr. Snuff).
I’d be stuck with 9 varieties (6 back when) of Samuel Gawith, at 6€ for 10g. Plus postage. Or the offerings of a certain ‘smoking shop’ in the uk, with mere vestiges of the Toque line. Thank the omnipotent imaginary beings for this forum.
My local tobacconists only stock Poschl and O&G. That’s it! It sucks donkey balls. Internet’s far cheaper anyway. I hope we never see the day we can’t buy snuff on the web, but I’m preparing for such a scenario just in case.
My local tobacconists dont carry any snuff! They do have a large selection of Cubans and a very small selection of pipe tobacco. They carry their own blends but nothing else
What would I be stuck with? Bruton and Red Seal (I live in Nashville- they make it here) and while those are OKAY, I prefer English snuffs. However, the only English snuff I have access to is some Sam Gawith Bullshit Tap boxes! And they’re a couple years old! No thanks. Thank you SOOO MUCH MR. SNUFF! and thanks guys here at snuffhouse.org!!! I learn alot from you all!
I guess I’d be able to get… 5g tins of most WoS, along with minor tins of O&G, and little and big tins of J&H Wilsons stuff whilst in Bristol. If I was in Leeds I’d have access to a large range of WoS snuffs in 10g tins, a large range of SG snuffs in 10g Tappers, a large range of GH’s in 10g tappers, all the F&T’s, O&G in big and medium tins, and a range of Poschls. Without Snuffhouse, however, I probably wouldn’t have the urge I do now to try them all.
I would be able to find Poschl’s if I drove for an hour. Scary thought! I hate those! EDIT: come to think of it, I did find WEG Scotch and Peach at a crummy li’l smoke shop. They are probably years old and the price wasn’t too good.
I’d be in your exact same situation Squarefiend. I keep hounding Phillips & King to get the Silver Dollar Toque snuff onto the darn trucks before Christmas so I’d like to think I could at least fall back on that too. Otherwise I’d invest in a good grinder and make my own Texas Original Mesquite smoked nasal snuff.
“Without Snuffhouse, however, I probably wouldn’t have the urge I do now to try them all.” ^This is good Spam^ I would’ve probably put it in a pipe too. Now see me inhale.
“Snuff without Snuffhouse is just stuffing dried leaves up your nose.”
snuff with out snuff house would make me feel more ecentric. I found online retailers before I found snuffhouse, mostly it’s just great to know a few other snuffers.
For me, snuffhouse is The Place for discussion, information, etc. with others who share an avid interest in snuff. (Or maybe ‘obsession’ is a more accurate word for some enthusiasts, by the Gods!) Concerning the ‘local tobacconists’ as others have mentioned, mine has a pretty decent selection - particularly for a menthol lover like me, as there’s always several different Poschls, and the Hedges l260, and No.99. Also, GW and HG (‘sneezeboxes’ though), a few Toques, and randomly things like WoS Jockey Club sneak in.
@spam birds of baldwin street? I stunned the proprietor with my backpack full of snuff when purchasing yet another tin of hedges there recently.
I would be left high and dry without the internet and Mr.Snuff!
@bish777, yeah, Birds! One of the blokes who works there is really nice and a good laugh, the other one is a grumpy, unhelpful, sod and I avoid going in when he’s there now. Also, in case you were unaware, the South African shop in St. Nic’s sells NTSU!
Before I discovered Snuffhouse I used 3 or 4 snuffs, all menthol. Now, after trying over a hundred varieties I saw discussed, I now am back down to 4 snuffs, but three of them are different than the ones I used formerly. GH CM is the only one I still use and the only menthol.
Snuff without snuffhouse would be much more boring. I would be missing out on some good friends! Everyone here shares a love for snuff. Snuff without snuffhouse would be alot less colorful. “Snuffhouse- where the Rhinos play” Without snuffhouse, my TAD wouldn’t flare up so badly…
I might not have become a snuffer (or snuffsman) without Snuffhouse. I got a free sample from Roderick through this site years ago and, though it wasn’t my first go at snuff, it was the first one I liked. Snuffhouse helped me learn which snuffs I liked, helped me grow as my tastes changed, and showed me that snus and chew are great as well. But it wasn’t just this website — it was all of you!
ooh, this thread got rich. that’s it! snuffhouse.org makes me rich. So xapken, the site bookmarked on your portable to show people you ain’t weird? ; ) Nachman, it all just comes back to routine right? I either have a tap-out and the WAT from sunburstbottle.com, or a box and a tin, right pocket, ready to wield purposefully. NelsonPipeClub, can I be a snuffdude?
It’s called being a Rhino!
SNUFFMAN!
Properly: ‘Rhinocerot’ (and that pastry up your rhino is rhinolith.)
Snuffhouse is a wonderful resource for the discovery of snuff. Also a rhinos’ playground.
Snuff without Snuffhouse is simply snuff. Life without Snuffhouse is like a day without sun. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you ladies and gentlemen, even if I don’t log in (no internet at home, you see.)
Yeah it sucked when I couldn’t log in! I was reading a few conversations getting pissed off that I couldn’t contribute!
I’ve never used snuff without snuffhouse. Lurked here for about a week before making my first snuff order from Roderick and never looked back. Pipe smoke when you can and snuff when you can’t. That’s my motto. The fine folks at snuffhouse.org have been a great resource.
I have to echo transistor’s comment.
