snuff with smokey flavor like Viking dark.

C

Anyone here know of snuff similar to Viking dark, I killed my tin of VD so fast and now I wonder if there are any other snuff’s out there that are similar to VD, any suggestions?

C

Bernard’s Gekachelter Virginie is a nice smoky snuff. It’s coarser than Viking Dark and not quite as much nicotine, really good stuff IMO.

R

Snuffstore black magic is VERY smoky.

F

Try Old Mill Olde English Toast (thank you @chefdaniel). It is rich, complex, and smokey and far superior to Viking Dark. To me, Viking Dark is merely an okay snuff. I know that there are lots of Viking Dark lovers here on Snuffhouse and I do not intend to offend them but I do not see much in that snuff to get excited about. Of course, this is only my opinion and nothing more.

S

Most toasts and scotches are smoky. Silver Dollar scotch is nice and smoky, the mole so latakia blends are also quite smoky I find.

H

De Kralingse Molens Latakia AO 1860 is super smoky, and I’ll give you an example of how much; I took a pinch just before I started work, got onto the shop floor (I work in a department store), said hi to my boss, and he sniffed the air, and said “Can you smell smoke? I think something’s on fire…”

D

I agree with @fredh Smokey flavor tobacco snuff has to be Old Mill Olde English Toast.

H

Samuel Gawith London Brown, Scotch, Scotch Black and SP Scotch all deserve a mention. All are great in their own way and all are very smokey (and the scotches have no relation to American scotch these are coarse snuffs). And the overall greatest, suits-any-occasion smoky snuff is Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Original, though it has less smoke than the smokiest ones.

I can’t find old mill Olde English Toast on Mr snuff , am I doing the search wrong?

H

@Celsen Mr snuff doesn’t carry it. Contact @chefdaniel he is the producer of those fine snuffs and can help you get them direct

H

@Celsen also if you like smokey check out the old mill nocturne. It is very smoky, but different from the viking

M

I’d agree with @horus92 SG London Brown is a top dark and smoky snuff. SWS Mull of Oa would be my shout for something similar to Viking D with a twist - Hey a bit of fine single malt is never a bad thing!

That is funny as crap! And i agree both the AP and 1860 are very smoky All American Plain (vs sweet) Scotches are smoky…except Railroad Plain. It is like a sweet without the sweetness (or a Plain with out the smoke)…Of the Americans I find Tops to be the most complex and layered Wilsons HDT is like a lighter version of an American plain…much more smoky than F&T HDT…yet not reaching the American level Another is Gawith Hoggarth’s Kendal Brown…maybe more leather than smoke…but man it burns like few other snuffs i have tried

S

Agree with above but would like to add that Bernard’s Postillion should fit nicely in anyone’s list of Smokey snuffs…

J

I haven’t tried the Viking Dark yet, but W. E Garrett and Sons is very smokey. One of my favorite snuffs.

N

All of above seem good, but natural toast is working good for the hot spring days. The darker are for the darker days.

C

Thanks for the advice , my mind is working overtime on my monthly order

Ahhh AO 1860! It’s been ages since I had any of that! Another one for the list for the next order
