I have noticed that most times when I snuff, my left nostril is fine, but I go for the right, and BAM right into my throat. I have tried with many different snuffs and different ways of taking it, with the same result.
Anyone else have this problem and if so, how do you compensate.
I have a terrible problem with it. My left nostril is almost block from too many nose injuries when I was young, so my right one is so open everything can fly right through.
This link has my method for avoiding it. Another thing that has worked with some snuffs is putting the snuff in you nostril, but block the massage of air and sniff with the other nostril. it works fairly well, but I tend to dribble a lot that way.
Yeah dude, my left nostril is the only one I can actually get it right with. I usually just get a little bit up the right because it makes the smell of snuffs much stronger.
Try chaning your angle a bit. It may not be the nostril. Or you can use the left hand to pinch to the right nostril only and vice versa. I thought my right nostil was a wind tunnel until I tried pinching with my left hand, then the opposite was true. Now I can do either nostril with either hand, but have to be conscious of my “aim.”
There are also muscles that are involved which shapes affect the turbination. Normally one side will be stronger and of a different shape than the other. One can exercise these to stimulate symmetry.
