Snuff to go with a good oatmeal stout.

Well I liked a previous batch of all grain oatmeal stout I brewed with friends so much that we just had to make another. This batch was modified slightly by toasting the oatmeal before brewing. The oatmeal stout is a heavy beer, and I like it because it is hearty and of a simple character, not a lot of fancy malts, just rich grains and a randy English yeast. Good Thanksgiving beer that will be enjoyed by many, 7 and a half gallons. I have many snuffers attending and would like to consider an appropriate snuff, and I was thinking a good working mans snuff such as a Tom Buck or a Gawith Hoggarth plain, or maybe Just a Kendal Brown from a Kendal mill. Any thoughts? (Hopfen Schnupf will be there since all the brewers are smitten with the stuff)

Toque’s XMas Pudding sounds ideal.

If your oatmeal stout is anything like the one I had, I’d say go for a simple snuff, but with a punch. Something that has a more potent flavour than Tom Buck, like Grand Cairo.

A good German Schmalzler like Perlesreuter. It gos well with heavy beers.

Sternecker Straubinger Schmalzler (not the Fresko or Echt Fresko). Actually, they would be OK but the Straubinger would be perfect.

Nachman FTW. Of the Pöschl range that would be the best. I bet these would go with some dopplebocks well too.

Straubinger, Aecht Altbayerischer or Perlesreuter would all be good, just not something sweet like Doppelaroma or Sudfruct. Pardon my spelling.

definitely the Bernard Doppelt Fermentiert

I like SP with Stout or Porter.

Sam Gawith Scotch Black works well with stout for me. Plain tobacco with manly peat, coal and tar scents.

a good SP, a good cherry, and also toque christmas

buy me some oatmeal stout to drink with you and I’am sure I’ll find the perfect snuff.

Love to! But I can make a really great one also! The Straubinger, Scotch Black have made the list, along with a super fresh Gold label.

I would have said Toque Quit earlier…until I received Straubinger and fresh Kendal Brown Plain in my last order

Toque Lime Toast - sharp so as to balance the depth of the stout.

straubinger is just awesome.
