Snuff stuff

Hi, since we have many posts discussing these, well, some. I think the real question is, which of these new snuffs would you rebuy? This would give an idea of which are the best ones amongst users. Now I haven’t been able to give a full treament on them all, and with all the snuff I have, and how I am always switching around snuffs, a 10g can will last me I suspect what might seem forever. But I am impressed with a few of them, that I’d rate as rebuys, and they are: Wow! Coffee Bite Temptation Lime & Lemony Blast Whisky Honey This my current list of the ones that I liked and that stood out to me. I’ll update my list as needed.

one of the things I’ve noticed with this list is after awhile you get a good idea of how similar someones taste is to yours. Or at least that is a common experience I’ve noted.

I wouldn’t buy any whiskey and honey other than Toque. It’s interesting how many people got upset when Roderick talked about naming his snuff after Spanish Jewel yet people don’t have problems with a blatant ripoff of one of his unique products?

Well, I love Toque’s Whisky&Honey, it’s one of my top faves from Toque, but it’s a totally different animal than the Blast snuff of the same name. And the Blast seems to me, to have a more whisky taste that is more akin to actual whisky, with a sweetness to it.

I wouldn’t buy any of the Dholakia’s that I have had. I enjoy the original blends (Sparrow Green/Blue) and the Swiss Chocolate, but the new one’s don’t sit well with me.

No offense Tom…I just wanted to make a comparison for our readership. I didn’t mean to direct my remark to you. Long time members of the forum will understand what I’m talking about.

Snuffbox- Oh I didn’t take it like that anyway. I just wanted to note that while the name is similar, one with an “&”. They are not the same, or trying to be at all. cstokes- I have yet to try the original Dholkias, expect Aniseed Menthol, which I do like. I do have some others on the way though. The Wow! Coffe Bite is the best coffee snuff I have had, the only other one being Toque Espresso, which is very good itself, though is more softer almost like an interntional coffees type, and the Coffee Bite is like fine ground coffee beans.

You need to get ahold of some Samuel Gawith Black Coffee. The Sparrow’s are to die for. The Green is my favorite. Clean, crisp and strong.

I’ve really become a fan of the Coconut and Toffee. I mix it with FUBAR grunt & Shot of Rum for a ‘beach day’. The passion fruit and orange chocolate are nice, but not sure I would keep either on hand.

I really like( and might re-order): Coconut & Toffee Lime & Lemony Whiskey with Honey I also like: Brandy & Maple Coffee Cream (the sample I got was labelled like this, not sure if it is Coffee Bite exactly) Chocolate Orange (another sample) I’m a bit disappointed (but will persevere) with: Wine & Cheese Rum Special Of course, I might change my mind at some point.

I think I have a sampler of the Coconut and Toffee, and recall it being good. I hadn’t heard of Coffee Cream, I don’t have that sampler. I do remember liking the Brandy Maple. At first I wasn’t sure about the Chocolate Orange, but I think it’s grown on me. I have so many, I need to devise some type of rating system, and maybe look good at each one and give them all a 5 sniff evaluation, and note which appeal to me the most. Overall though, I guess I must be a fan of Dholakia as it seems I have bought more of their snuffs than anyone else, with Toque a close second, but that’s also mainly due to their buy 10 for 9 deal, which I did twice.

@Tom502 ERM Tony has a nice set up on his webpage, maybe it will give you some ideas. I don’t know the exact URL, but i have a link on my page. http://www.mysnuffcollection.com/

Cool, all the pages. Very nice.

I have got 13 of the new Dholkias, but have a serious tonsillitis and can t review any snuffs at the moment. My first impression was that the wow - american caramel could even outdistance the swiss chocolate in my personal top list. And the Wow! Coffee Bite is definitively my favourite coffee snuff, while Samuel Gawith Black Coffee is also a snuff i don t want to miss. If you like it sweet, the Grape Concord is a very interessting and impressive choice…

I have Grape Concord on the way. I’m gonna go through each of these, and pick wich ones I think are worth of a rebuy, and I’ll post my results soon. I don’t have them all though.

I remember my first Toque order at the beginning of last year, it was Toffee, Vanilla, Natural, Espresso… my first impression was oh, thats nothing exceptional… but some weeks later they became my absolutely snuff favourites. So I m always a bit cautious with fast valuations… my favourites of the new Dholakias: time will tell

I don’t think the name Whiskey Honey is a ripoff. Honey is often added to whiskey as a cold remedy. I actually like this one better than the Toque. The Toque one seems sour or kind of weird to me. So far Wiskey Honey and Brandy Maple are the only 2 I liked enough to rebuy, with Apple Pie being a maybe.

1st definite re-buy for me: Wow! Coffee Bite. See my review in the rating thread.

I’ve already bought a 25 gr tin of Lime & Lemony. After snuffing it I actually expect to see a greenish yellowish powder in the tin,its that lime & lemony flavored. I’ll most likely buy more Purple Passion as its got a nice tart flavor and I prefer that over sweet fruit flavors. I’m not sure if its a real passion fruit flavor but it is good. I also bought some Gin & Tonic but this might not be a good reference because I hate the smell and taste of gin. When I got the sample I thought I’d probably dislike it but It has kind of a flowery scent,no juniper that I can pick up, with a touch of lime. The Grape Concord does taste amazingly like, well uh, Grape Concord! I bought a tin and don’t regret it but I don’t know if I’ll re-buy. How about Mango Creme? I meant to buy a tin to try but accidentally hit the Brandy & Maple button. Hopefully that one will grow on me.

I was sent all of the new line, part of the contest prize from last year. Some of them are quite nice but I wouldn’t buy any of them again, for me they are just not snuff. However, I have grown to really like Kamal and Fubar.
