Snuff Storage

Hey everyone. Latley I have been keeping my home made snuffs in a sealed plastic container. After a while the scent of the tobacco changes and becomes repulsive. How can I store my snuffs without this happening?

if its the containers influence that somehow changes the snuff i am pretty sure that using a glas container should fix that problem. plastic highly depends on the quality (and this is not necessarily showing in the price). i remeber having to throw away tea because it got bad in a plastic (zip-lock box). but i might also have to do with ingredients of your tobacco naturally changing over time. is it scented? the best way to prolonge changing is airtight (or near airtight) storage, because most (not all though) of the chemical processes are oxidations, which are caused from contact with oxygen. shortest possible answer: airtight glass container.

Glass mason jars used for canning work good. The latch lid kilner style jars are your best bet. The lid is pulled tight over a gasket to completely seal it. I have a couple of these and they work great. But mine are ceramic so no light gets in. Kilner Jar Something like the ones on this link would be best because they won’t let light in. You can find them in all different colors or patterns. 3pc Canister Set
