Snuff similar to SG Grousemoor pipe tobacco

J

Hey all, I’m wondering if there are any Samuel Gawith snuffs that are similar in scent to their Grousemoor pipe tobacco. I love the smell of that pipe tobacco but based on the description of the snuff of the same name I’m not sure they would be similar at all…

The Grousemoor snuff is so different from the pipe tobacco that I have no idea why SG used the same name. The pipe version is - as their description suggests - like a Spring day. Many people think that it is completely over the top but compared to some other Lakelands I find the scent quite light. There is some citrus in there - SG refer to Lemon Grass - but also a variety of florals. I do very much enjoy smoking it in the Spring and early Summer. Grousemoor snuff is a completely different beast being coarse, dark and quite moist. I think I once described it as taking a walk through the countryside in the Autumn after it has rained and breathing in the air. I absolutely love this snuff and find that it has a reasonable nic kick and a slight burn. Other than the description I have just given I think it impossible to describe the aroma. @basement_shaman said in his review on SnuffReviews that “The scent is subtle being so well balanced it creates a new scent altogether.” and that is absolutely correct. I would certainly recommend both the snuff and the pipe tobacco but do keep in mind that they are completely different.

Why not grind up some of the pipe tobacco in a mortar and give it a sniff? One could also use an electric spice or coffee mill, bearing in mind that the heat might alter the scent somewhat…
