although only for a while until the next pinches and it works best with toasts or possibly only with toasts, well thats the snuff where I notice it. So why could this be? It’s quite a dramatic change, before my eye’s seem to have trouble focusing on text for example and after no problem. I am a little short sighted and have glasses but only wear them normally for driving at night. Don’t need reading glasses and have a good 24" computer screen and good lighting. Also had a recent eye examination and came through clear. So it’s pretty dull lightwise (overclouded) here these days and I noticed my eyesight seeming to be weaker when out and strained when at the computer. A pinch of my toast blend and basically the strain goes and text comes into sharp focus. I’m actually going to try this outside tomorrow to see if it helps the same then if I could work out what was happening then maybe there is a way to make this happen permenantly without needing constant pinching although I wouldn’t necessarily mind that and pretty much do that anyhow. So, it only seems clearly noticable with my toast snuff which is a mixture of differnt toast and some sandalwood and is pretty strong with a lot of Dholakia White. The effect happens immediatley and gradually fades at about the same rate as the nicotine I suppose but I don’t think it’s due only to the nicotine because vaping with high nicotine juice doesn’t work at all in fact the vapour could be causing some eye dryness or maybe is the problem when I vape in this small room? I did set the fire alarm off when I opened the door a few times and the alrm is on the ceiling right outside but I was testing a lot of new vaping stuff but it hasn’t happened recently. Anyhow I though it was interesting enough to mention and maybe others have noticed a similar thing or know more. I’m wondering is it something to do with a sudden change in blood pressure which I think is an effect of snuff? Maybe it just my eye’s watering after a good pinch? Think actually that might be it or at least part of it. Must have dry eye’s otherwise? Sorry if this is a pointless ramble, still interested to hear if anyone has other knowledge about this.
who knows but nicotine is a stimulant. Which effects the way the brain works in a positive way. It may also reduce pressure in the sinuses which might slightly reduce compression on the optic nerves.
crap, vaping might set the alarms off? damn, mine seem sensitive, i was spraying bug spray and it went off, damn this rented property, i wanted to try vaping for when i dont have half an hour for snus. looks like ill have to see if i can block it off with a bag or something. anyway, i find tobacco gives me clarity in all forms so long as im not on a buzz from it. this translates to everything i see being clearer too. my vision is usually dodgy anyway and my eyes dont focus together (can be pretty trippy when ive been reading on an ereader app for awhile with one eye, then look around in the dark with both haha). snuff tends to do this in an active way, stimulating everything. im not sure why.
I vape daily nearly underneath a smoke alarm and I have never set it off. Maybe because my home is open style and there is more circulation? I think my eyes are generally less irritated since I quit smoking.
different alarms work differently, for example theres heat alarms, and multiple types/sensitivities of smoke alarm. stuff in rentals seem to be more geared towards anti smoking (so are set high), rather than the balance between safety and convenience.
Yes its a damn mystery but it definitely works. Just now staring into the distance my short sighted vision seems to clear after trying it again. I wouldn’t say it’s as clear as if I wore my glasses and I don’t like to wear them as normally I don’t need them for close stuff and I don;t want them making my eye’s weaker. I can re-wick an atomiser coil without glasses so I can see very small stuff up close very well. I’m surprised that I sometimes have a problem with the computer screen as I am quite close to that but I think I’m having some kind of eye tiredness/strain issue currently which snuff seems to temporarily aleviate. Definitley recomend vaping for quitting smoking. I bought some cigars a few weeks ago and no longer get any satisfaction from them since I’ve been vaping a while so it’s simply become pointless to buy any more. The smoke actually seems incredibly harsh now. Do find vaping interferes a little with snuffing though. Enjoy them most when I’m only using one or the other but of course a lot times they overlap. My fire alarm which went off had never previously in all the years it’s been installed. Damn loud. Was going to pull the battery but it’s wired into the mains also. Doesn’t go off if I calm down the vaping a few minutes before I open the door or close it quickly behind and I do leave a window vent open now. I was testing 3 new tanks and batteries when I set it off on two different occasions so there was a lot of vapour and I was pretty vaped off my head also!
There are 2 types of smoke alarms. Photonic and Ionic. Photonic has a little laser beam which when smoke enters the chamber, refracts the light and causing the alarm to sound. Ionic senses the ions in the air, which can be triggered by high humidity, steam, vapor and such. Heat sensors are an all together different type of signaling device with a metal plate that melts at a certain temperature and signals an alarm. If you are having problems, try replacing them with photonic detectors or just have a fan running to dissipate it. I have installed far too many fire alarm systems…and have had to explain this to many people who actually work in the industry. Hope that helps.
The great fire alarm mystery solved
You’re daily bit of useless information, brought to you by… Me
There used to be a green snuff used in Russia and Eastern Europe called “augentabak” - eye tobacco. It would make your eyes water and was supposed to be good for them. I’ve noticed everything becomes a bit “clearer” after a good pinch of strong snuff. I think it’s something to do with the stimulation of nicotine. I feel more alert for sure.
Yes I think it definitely works best with strong finer snuffs. It’s as if your eyeballs suddenly became like the cartoon characters, you know when they suddenly enlarge before springing back or have one of those spiraling swirl moments. Had some fun recently when I got a colleague to take some Dholakia White. Think he snuffed to hard so as he coughed and spluttered uncontrollably (I knew it wouldn’t kill him) I calmly asked if everything was ok. When he could speak a little later he said he liked it.
