I wish there was some way for the forum to tally the “What’s in your nose” posts and then a score board could be kept somewhere of the results. This would give me as a snuff user a definitive list of what I should try based on popular opinions in the “What’s in your nose” thread. I do take note of the snuffs that get a lot of likes, but there are so many pages to wade through.
Mine seems to change seasonally. At lease my choices do. It would be difficult determining popular due to members that post every 5/10 minutes. Also when a new snuff hits the market it normally gets posted often. Is it good? that is up to your nose to choose. I think a weekly voting survey; like the best Toast one would determine the winners. Every week a different category. Best dark moist plain snuff ,I know your vote would be viking dark. Or it could be what company makes the best coffee snuffs? It have to be broken down to the limit of choices available .Best Sp too many to list as a vote so tallying could be problematic here I think it have to be broken down according to other factors as grind ,moisture,ease of use, scent staying power or lack of.
@basement_shaman any of the things you suggested sound very useful. I just find we have a ton of data on opinions and would love it so much if it got grouped together somehow. If I knew how to code I’d supply it myself. I’d be happy to see a weekly voting survey. Anything to aggregate the sum opinions of 100’s of snuff users in 1 spot would be nice to see.

Yes I think A weekly voting would stimulate the slump in conversational activity,also keep members active. It does need a dedicated section, for it don’t get buried in the sea of what? threads. Maybe a banner on the side. Click here for weekly voting poles. If you build it they will come!

We could try the tagging system again? Sadly, our integrated polls only go to 10 choices and you can only vote once. I would want it to be a continuous thing that would keep a running taly.
Forget the tags, only works for discussions, not posts. I’ll keep looking for something.

@cstokes4 . Yes a continuous smart filter that would auto tally any mention of any snuff and record the result. Generally the “what’s in your nose” thread is about the snuffs users are liking. The challenge would be when someone mentions a snuff negatively in that thread…that could throw some error into it, but even that would be minimal. The smart filter would also have to be able to recognize the various ways people input their likes. Example being 6photo VS Six Photo VS 6P or any other variation.
I agree that this would be a ‘useful addition’. I certainly wish I knew how to do any of this but I am a computer ‘duderhead’. For example, cannot even figure out how to put a photo on line. Anyway, I am grateful for all the good hard work that all the moderators have put into this site. THANKS!!!
