Just thought I’d start a poll out of boredom and curiosity: 1. What was your first snuff? 2. Strongest snuff? 3. Best snuff mix? (2 or more snuffs) 4. Best smelling snuff? 5. Moistest (wettest) snuff? 6. Your favorite snuff? 7. Your favorite snuff-taking method? 8. Your worst snuff? 9. Percentage of spillage? (How much snuff you spill each time you take a pinch) 10. Is snuff the only form of tobacco you use? If not, then what else do you use? For me: 1. Bruton Scotch 2. White Elephant 3. Don’t mix a lot, but Toque Coke and Toque Quit mixed 50-50 is nice. As is Honey Bee and Tube Rose (slightly more Honey Bee, 60-40) 4. Honey Bee 5. Most Toque snuffs 6. Tube Rose 7. Pinch and sniff; Also, wrapping your index finger around your thumb and putting your snuff in between (I think it’s called boxcar? Correct me if I’m wrong) 8. Haven’t tried too many, but Dholakia Aniseed 9. About 30-35% 10. No. Snus daily, dipping tobacco once in a while, chewing tobacco rarely, cigarettes rarely

Samuel Gawith Cherry
-
On paper, I guess it’s Toque Rustica, although I really only feel the nicotine after a snuff binge
-
My favorite mix so far is Old Mill Butternut w/ Toque USA Chocolate
-
Oh god I’m going to fail at this list… I’ll go with Old Mill Antebellum
-
Taxi Red
-
This is really taking some restraint… Old Mill Antebellum
-
It depends on the snuff, but I’d say the boxcar is most crucial for me
-
Toque Cheese & Bacon
-
Depends on the method, but if it’s specifying the pinch, 10-20%
-
No. Shortcut, longcut, pouches, snus, and entirely too much of it.
That was fun @RailroadMills :-bd
Thank you! @SeanOCDPx You really hate the Cheese and Bacon? Haha it’s not that bad. And I haven’t tried Rustica. Is it a lot stronger than White Elephant or Dholakia White? Or is it just a lot of hype?
- Dean Swift Bezoar 2) Some homemade. It was ground up Cotton Boll Twist steeped in cedar flakes. Yummy, but it’ll blow your head off. 3) I forget what the ratios were, but it was SG Blue Crest, SWS Havana Toast, and OM Pumpernickel Toast. I actually just found this again tucked back in the icebox. 4) F&T Old Paris 5) SG London Brown 6) SG Blue Crest is my favorite all-day. SWS Thrice Brewed and Creme De Figue are tied as my favorite special occasion snuff. 7) Pinch 8) GH Lakeland 9) My pinches are pretty solid. Less than ten percent. 10) I also smoke pipes and cigars, and have been known to indulge in the occasional tin of Copenhagen Original (“fine cut”), or Roda Lacket Los.
@Hitsuzen Gotta try that homemade snuff one day. And that mix sounds good as hell. Oh, and you can’t go wrong with Copenhagen haha
@RailroadMills - the Cheese & Bacon reminds me of something… I’ll spare the details. I love plenty of other Toques, but it just reminds me of this one thing and I can’t get it out of my head whenever I try it. As far as the Rustica goes… some say it is really that strong, but it doesn’t seem to do anything to me that White Elephant doesn’t do. Some love the scent and get a good nicotine hit from it, but not I.
@SeanOCDPx LMAO I know what you mean, it doesn’t smell too good, but cheese is my favorite food, so that’s why I don’t mind the snuff as much. And awe shoot, I ordered the Rustica hoping it would give me a crazy amount of Vitamin N. Is the smell similar to White Elephant?
@RailroadMills - by all means it might be what you’re looking for. I’m a bad judge of nicotine, what with all the Copenhagen going on. The smell I’d say is pretty unique to Rustica. I just took a pinch, and anymore I just know it as Rustica, but when I first got it I remember noticing a kind of tartness to it, and that it had this earthy smell - maybe like hay and leaves or something. It’s harder for me to pick out these days. I remember someone posting that he loved the smell, and he was asking if anyone knew of similar smelling snuffs. So who knows, it might be up your alley.
The smell I get from Rustice is reminiscent of something along the lines of hay or maybe closer to alfalfa, yeah I’d say alfalfa I remember the smell of it very well from when I was a kid and we had small animals and that was part of their diet. Rustica is very strong but it’s a creep up on you strong as where the whites are an immediate blow to the back of the head. When it does hit me though Rustica has a slight edge. 1. Don’t honestly remember I first tried it in grade school, yes grade school. A friend got into his grandfathers stash and brought some smallish probably 5 gram tins to school. 2. Rustica 3. W.E. Garrett 2/3 Willie Pete 1/3 it’s an American Scotch on Steroids 4. De Kralingse Peppermunt 5. Fubar Shot of Rum 6. De Kralingse Peppermunt 7. Boxcar or pinch, I seem to flip flop back and forth so much I don’t know that I have a clear favorite 8. Paul Gotard unsure of the name black something maybe black night.all I can say is I couldn’t get it out of my nose fast enough and I’m pretty sure I was still smelling it like 3 days later 9. Maybe 20 to 30 percent 10. No absolutely not also use snus, dip pipe and cigars no ciggys I gave them up after 24 years. I would like to give up the dip and snus as well and stick to snuff pipe and cigars
@outlawmobile Grade school, damn. That’s the youngest I’ve ever heard someone trying snuff. How did you find out the process being that young? Also, scotches are my favorites, and I don’t know how I never thought of that mix. It’s on my to do list for sure. And boxcar and pinch for the win. Also, being Polish, I’ve always wanted to try Paul Gotard. But now, I’m having second thoughts haha
@SeanOCPx Yupp, the only way of knowing for sure is by trying it. But I’m the same as you. I use other forms of tobacco quite frequently, so I guess I wouldn’t be the best judge of nicotine either.
Oh way back then my technique was…well I didn’t really have one. Tap some out and just snort. In all honesty even at that age it didn’t take long to figure out maybe going for the gusto wasn’t the way to go. We did it in school many times till we got caught and that was the end of that. We still did it outside school. His grandfather must have had quite a stash because he was always coming up with new and different tins and saying oh you gotta try this. I honestly think the issue with the Gotard was that it was a perfumey floral type snuff. I had no clue and I have a major issue with floral and perfumey smells so it was a complete shock to the senses. In hindsight I should have taken a whiff before snuffing it. Lesson learned in a big way. I will say scent aside it was a nice seemingly high quality snuff. Perfect grind and nice moisture level so don’t write them off. You may miss out on something great.
