Snuff Papers?

In the heyday of snuff, the snuff stores used to wrap your purchase in a piece of paper printed with various designs. I am intrigued by these pieces of history, but I can find very little info out there on them. Has anyone got links to share?

There was a pic or two in the past few years about them. Occasionally you will see them pop up on ebay. I think the F&T ones were monogrammed, not sure about Smith’s.

Talkin about the sniffing mats? I found some searchin around for snuff accessories, I think I was lookin at the useless “snuff kit” and stumbled upon them, they had different designs on them like your Talkin about. I think they were laminated or Somethin, more for drug use I think. They were around like 1.50 usd or so for a pack of 3 different designs. Im a newb tho idk if those are the right thing.

@stimpakk I don’t think its the same thing. These papers were like a sheet of wax paper that was rolled into a cone, like for ice cream, then filled with snuff at the shop for you to take away. How folks got these home without spilling half of it is beyond my imagination. Presumably this was all before cheap disposable bulk containers came into play, so early 1980s and earlier I’m guessing. Although I know Smith’s would fill a snuffbox for you, so I presume they’d also fill any jar you brought from home. They have an old time weighing scale in the old videos seen in our library. So anyway, the papers still surface on ebay from time to time, and if you are into snuff paraphernalia, they are a nice find. Some have logos of the shops that issued them, making them more collectable. Maybe someone who has some can post some pics in this thread so future readers will know. Its something obscure to many.

I think its very interesting. Im still awaiting my very first order from mrsnuff, (to anxious) I have done my fair share of reading about all of it and is love tocollect all the older stuff. Im a cigarette smoker that recently switched to RYO and ordering different tobaccos from D&R. Its exciting to find snuff product, I had tried it like 8 yrs ago when a kid brought it to school and tried to get me to try a bit, back then I had no clue what nicotine even was. This will be the start of collecting a new thing (besides certain beanie babies when I was younger). Adter switching to ryo I want to collect everything about tobacco besides cigars. starting with a tripletech snuffbox id like to get my hands on a silver one someday. And maybe one of those cones you guys are speakin of lol. @Xander Were these stores mainly in Europe or outside of US?
