Snuff on the go!

One of the best things about snuff are all the varieties of flavors that are available. Consequently, to break up the monotony of the day I like to have numerous different flavors available at work, but I do not like carrying 5 tins to work everyday and cluttering my desk with them. So, I’ve been searching for ways to get as many flavors as possible to work using the smallest container I could find… Last week inspiration struck. I remembered a post from @tobaccylassy where she was using an Altoids tin for carrying various snuff paraphernalia. I further remembered a post by @distaind where he was talking about using very small vials for snuffing while driving. Eureka! I purchased 12 1/2 Dram vials from Amazon for $2.50, emptied an Altoid’s tin, found an old flask funnel, and printed some labels. Below are the results!

P.S. The blue fabric is my silk hanky… Useful for the usual reasons and also as an “anti-rattle” agent when walking with the tin in my pocket. I also use a small rubber band to keep the box securely closed when it is in my pocket. Now I just tap some snuff to the end of an open bottle; place it under my nose; and gently sniff.

Ingenious.

I carry around my snuff vials/boxes in a empty fabric sunglass bag. But I do like the altoid tin alot I might have to give that a go

I was pinching from my vials and bullets… Mainly because i suck at sniffing directly from them. (no pun intended). Lol! I tried that with a vial of Anarkali and just about blew my head off because the Anarkali was a bit stuck at the opening and it came up in a big ball when i sniffed a little harder. Note to self… Drier snuff in dram vials. Lol! I forgot who originally gave me the idea of putting bullets in a tin… Was it @ladysnuff?

I find it helps if, as @distaind had suggested in the post I referenced, you make sure the snuff if firmly packed into the opening and you damn near put the vial into your nose. Between the packing and the proximity I find this does help get you smaller doses (but not always!). I will also shake the vile and repack if I don’t get a dose the first couple tries. However, I also frequently just dump some snuff out and boxcar it…

no one mention Johnnny_dingo’s vials and bullets in shotgun shell case?

There are small wooden sliding top snuffboxes that are a LOT smaller than an Altoids tin! Mr. Snuff has some 2" heartwood snuff boxes for sale on eBay.

Nice job, I was thinking on the lines of a briefcase, There was a member here.[ReginaldSpleen][http://www.snuffhouse.org/discussion/comment/199687/#Comment\_199687] who had a traveling snuff show and he had small jars in a briefcase with a foam lining formed so the jars sat up right. That was awesome. Mine would have 3-5 Pipes with accessories and various flake, shag and plug pipe tobacco ,moist snuff [dip] ,Snus. Snuffs. and mudjug and covered ashtray. But it all in my console of my truck. On my belt I carry two snuffhouse.org boxes in zippo holsters and have a clip on bag that dangles that hold five rococo plastic boxes. I have yet to graduate to the man purse or Murse. An official Indiana Jones satchel may be manly enough or a war time gasmask bag.

I very nearly mentioned Mr. Dingo, but then I started feeling like a name dropper… His post certainly planted the seed for the need to carry copious amounts of snuff in a controlled, organized, way. I also thought of our common hero, Dr. H.S. Thompson, when I read the Basement Shaman’s post above… “When you get locked into a serious [snuff] collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.”

I have a Craftsman toolbag that I carry everything in for work, including a selection of two to five snuffs. I consider them “essential work tools.” The bag cost me a grand total of five bucks.

Well look at you dropping H.S. Thomson [quote] !! omg nice one.

Ahhh, love it! I wonder if my son will ever realize that’s why his name is Hunter… :o)

@scottofksu that is neat! I wonder who can fit the most snuff varieties in an altoids tin? Anyone beat 8? :))

they make tiny zip-bags for carrying pills, get yourself a small spoon and you’ll be set I’d think.

I too bought some vials off of Amazon, but I got the 1 dram ones. They’re still in the mail, but it seems like they’ll be perfect for storing snuff while out and about. I may have to steal the altoid tin idea

I tried the tube I am working on and you can take a hit without your eyes leaving the road.

I’m going to have a nice little collection soon enough… but I’ll probably bring just one snuff with me to work. I’ll just circulate them. If I have to stay out of town, I’ll bring all of my favorites with me.
