I have a 13 hour long flight from Qatar to NYC this week. I just got a new snuffbox and had planned on having it in my pocket for the trip, despite snuff being illegal to sell in Qatar. Since it’s just a wooden box in my pocket, I doubt anyone would care at the airport, but do any of you think it might complicate my trip? Upon arrival perhaps, as in “what’s this substance you have with you?”. 13 hours is a long time without snuff.

Nah, its wood. Won’t give you trouble. If you have Arabic featrures, I’d worry more about that. There are some bigotted assholes out there. I hope you got that Nicotine Rush order in, to you adress in the US, otherwise its only Ozona President I see in your future, and my Palantir (crystal ball for non Tolkenites) tells me this, and it doesn’t lie. Now, if you say a prayer to the snuff god and whisper him gently with your request, he might provide you with a little something extra to take home with you. I can of course hear his voice and remain his servant. ALL BOW BEFORE THE GREAT SNUFF GOD!
just don’t take NTSU in that snuff box (they may think you’re carrying a cow dung ingredient for a bomb) 
If the box has metal hinges, it might make the detector go off. I’d use something totally plastic or wood. Then, on the plane, pull the tray down at the seat, and lay out a foot long line, and enjoy your snuff.
Yes mine is completely wood. I don’t look particularly Arabic as my family is from Spain, but when in this part of the world or coming from it I am often taken for an Arab and spoken Arabic to in the airport. So it should be alright bringing snuff? If I have my sbuffbox and a huge book like The Count of Monte Cristo the flight shouldn’t be SO bad.
went to nicotene rush all i saw was small containers doesnt really seem worth the shipping. I also didnt see the snuffs I was interested in like brown and black rappee. But thats crazy, no more deliveries after june 30th. What are you going to do?? I’ve just been making my own out here, so I might as well just find a good source of leaf and keep doing that back home.

@ matero: For me personally, I will probaby buy my future needs from UK vendors. Samuel Gawith in bulk is available at snuff.me.uk but it will take a few weeks to get a drum delivered to the USA.
I’ve never had anyone bat an eyelid when going through airport security - I just put either the tins or wooden boxes in the tray to go through the scanner. If you’re worried about getting a body search at the other end, why not just take enough with you to last the flight and throw any remaining snuff away ?
Yes I would do that however brand name snuffs are not available in Qatar so all I have is my own home made. I think I’ll just do what Brad suggests, put just enough for the flight and dash the rest if there is any.
I don’t think you will have any issues…I concur with the non-metal container recommendations though, just to be safe but I know they have started letting people take lighters (Bic type) on planes again, so… I am greatly looking forward to my next flight as an ex-smoker, now snuffer. Being in the US and not quite old enough to have ever been able to smoke on a plane in the last 16 years that I smoked, I am excited to be able to get my nicotine fix while stuck in one of those flying tins!!!
In the past I have just put the tin the snuff came in through the x-ray machine and no questions were asked. -Kidnapper
