Wife asked me about this last night---- was wondering if there are any of your snuff mills in ?England/Holland that do tours and so on? We have those here-- especially pipe tobacco manufacturers— a couple great ones in NC… But anyway, given snuff’s LONG history, someone should put together a tour-type thing revolving around tobacco early production-- especially in England… If that’s already been done, pls direct me 
Certainly Samuel Gawith don’t - when I phoned them to ask if I could visit they said they don’t do tours, but when I explained I wanted to buy some Black Coffe snuff from them as it wasn’t at the time available they were fine about me visiting. It’s something to do with Customs I believe, but just to step through that door and smell the scent of about 200 years of snuff manufacture seeping from all the woodwork was wonderful. The store room and office was all I saw, but what I smelled was wonderful.
HR_pufnsnuff - that sucks— I love to smoke SG tobaccos (Perfection, Grousemoor and the orange one with Tonkin-- can’t recall the name right off-- perhaps 1793??) anyway, they were the VERY mill I’d hoped would give tours!!! Go figure… At least you got to have a whiff… Odd that should be the VERY one I’d most like to go and see. Lunecat – haha— he’s only 35 miles, right? You ought to be able to whiff right from where you stand and imagine, 
@ general_desais and others: The snuff windmills in Rotterdam are open for the public every second Saturday of the month. Guided tours take place during opening hours. On most thursdays we are working but visitors are welcome. In addition you can book a tour in advance. All days are possible but NEVER on Sundays. Furthermore the guided tours are free, as we are all volunteers. If you are interested let me know. We’ll make arrangements and I’ll be happy to welcome you. Jaap Bes.
