I’ve been searching for snuff memorabilia etc for my “man cave” but struggle to find anything. Searching ebay I have found a couple of cool old prints, posters, artwork and snuff boxes, but not much else. Does anyone know where to find such things? Or have they always been hard to find? Or maybe they just never made much of that sort of stuff…

The Viking metal wall dispensers can be found on eBay. I’ve also seen porcelain signs and wall clocks with snuff on them, although they are usually expensive. A lot of the snuff advertisement was done on paper, and some of the calendars are really nice. There’s a Paanch calendar on eBay from 1988 that has a really cool graphic on it. So it’s out there, but the nicer items don’t come cheap.

I recently acquired a nice piece of snuff memorabilia from a friend of mine in Bavaria and thought I would share a couple of pics with you. It is an antique Bavarian snuff mortar which belonged to my friend’s grandfather who used to prepare his own snuff. In one of the pics I have included a 25g tin of snuff just to give a perspective on the dimension of the article. I think there was originally some other special piece of kit that went with it for the purpose of grinding. Perhaps not much to look at but a good find nevertheless. I guess back in the day, anyone who owned one of these things was a pretty serious snuff taker 
Try Ruby Lane or even Etsy - they often have antique canisters, tins and the like.
