I’ve seen them online and heard vague things about them. What I don’t understand, exactly what it is that they offer. What is their advantage? They look like neat little gadgets.
Are those the things that catapult snuff up your nose?

I’ve had this idea in my mind, of making some sort of inhaler for snuff. It would either be powered by compressed air, or maybe like a pump spray type bottle. It would shoot the snuff into your nostrils through something like a straw. I think it would be awesome.
I’ve been trying to get Leman to make a snuff “gun”. Maybe you can give it a “shot”
This thing looks downright dangerous. I’ve never seen one in person but I don’t think I’d use it because it looks like I’d throat every bit on the snuff I put in it. I’m more sensitive to the sniffing than most and this looks like it would get it way deep in there.
Are we talking about the flutes or catapults? I have not tried either, btw. Pinching usually does the trick for me and spoon for shmalzlers.

The snuff machine is the flute looking thing in the picture. A pinch, spoon, or snuff bullet is good for me, but sometimes I like to experiment with methods of snuff taking. I enjoy using straws and making lines of snuff when it is the moist and mentholated kind, that is pleasant. @Juxtaposer a snuff gun would be an excellent idea, I would most certainly give one a shot. I will def make some sort of pressurized snuff inhaler someday, that would be nuts.
I think they are more for fun and show than they are for the practical use. The flute ones I think are a Swiss thing. Breeze sells a lot of different ones. I think I read once that its some sort of pressure differential in it, but I can’t find a description on the site. The “X-Snuff” X-Mas Special is avalable again there.
I just had some interesting results using a small 1ml medicine syringe to pack a snuff “pellet” which I inserted into my nose, sorta like a snus Ice Tool. I think taking a pinch is more practical, though.
I have two of the Pöschl’s catapult boxes that I purchased from My Smoking Shop. I got two thinking that they would have a short life but still using the first one and It must be well over six months old now. OK, they are gimmicky, but once you get the hang of using it they are quiet good. I fill mine with Gletscher Prise, Gawith Hoggarth C M, or McC’s O&G.
Two warnings:-
#1 Don’t use it with fine dry snuff.
