Snuff journal

I have decided to make a snuff journal. As I am a new snuff taker. Now I can keep a decent record of the snuff I have used and what my impression of it was. What are your views on this. Think it’s a good idea. Any tips

Most other people do it with their hobbies. Cigar enthusiasts do it all the time. I say go for it! Good way to keep what you like strait.

Snuffhouse is my snuff journal.

The snuffhouse is a nice thing but, having a separate thing with organized info sounds nice.

They say that every one has at least one novel in them so why not? I’d suggest “I was a Teenage Snuff Fiend” or “Harry Snotter and the Philosophers Snuff Box” for a title, throw in a good bit of peripheral snuff lifestyle stuff - Bellter! :-))

Snuffhouse is my snuff journal.

What he said.

I might have to start a journal of where I put all the snuff all over the house so I can find it again.

Thanks for all the comments. I was also thinking of doing a star rating. Think it’ll be nice to have a massive list of snuff in a few years time. My own personal snuff history. Lol

I have a wine journal; spirits, snuff, pipe tobacco, cigar journals. I also have several food related journals, go figure. I’m an old fart so I use even older leather bound journals and a fountain pen. I paste wine labels and cigar bands just because I can and I use a five star system for rating. One of these days I’ll join the 21st Century and turn them into e-Journals. Or not.

I kept a notebook with notes about new snuffs and a note if I wanted to order more, but I have found that as batches and more importantly my tastes change, the list sometimes becomes a moot point. Since I have yet to find a snuff I never want to try again, I am fairly open to anything. I already know what I like and thanks to my past order history at Mr Snuff I am able to quickly recall what I have on tap.

yeah it’s called my brain.

I wish I had made a journal so that I could figure out which Turkish varietal is in this Turk Lao mix that just burned all the way though to my ear canals. I would have to do a little searching of snuffhouse if I really cared.

I started to keep a list, but found some snuffs I marked down, I actually enjoyed at a later date

I think I have to be careful with my notes. As ones tastes change with time. I still have a few weeks to think about it while I wait for my first shipment to arrive.

When tastes change, note that in your journal. It’s an evolving process, not a one time-carved in stone-indelible event.

Perhaps I should try and do a description of the snuff rather than a rating system. And a date of when I tried the snuff. For it to be a useful tool it will require a lot of work and snuffing.

If you want to keep it easy to find a snuff for updating, a table of contents helps. I do a description first; color, mill, moisture, nicotine, etc. Then I add a narrative to describe personal feelings at the time. Dates and times help.

Starting to sound more like a scientific paper. I like it. Thanks for the ideas.
