I’ve traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally with snuff, over the course of the past 7 years.
I am from the US, but I have never ever even had a question from TSA or any other country’s equivalent. (Mexico, UK, Nicaragua, Netherlands for examples that I can think of off the top of my head)
You have absolutely nothing to worry about. It’s tobacco. Everyone’s familiar, even if snuff is unusual. If you really are concerned, bringing the original tin won’t hurt, but I travel with just my unlabeled snuffbox (carry-on) all the time, and sometimes an unlabeled jar (checked bag) to re-fill from, depending on length of stay.
That said, I use snus on the plane itself, rather than snuff, because a few airlines ban all tobacco use in the air, and I don’t want to have a conflict (or a nicotine deficiency!). I can use snus 100% discreetly. But I can’t wait to get back on the ground and take a pinch.
It’s not easy to find snuff locally in the US, even in VA, though I’ve gotten scotches in Food Lion groceries near Winchester, Virginia. You should bring some if you want it or can’t live without it.
