He recommends I sprinkle some on a poached egg. Quite tasty, he claims. Out of eggs, I add some to a chilli I’m making
I had suggested this exact same use for Bohica a few years back also to add to a cup of hot chocolate to really warm you up.
Cool article. Itt would be amazing to see that old machine they use to make their snuff.

What touched me in the article is it shows how vivid the industry still is. Gives me hope for the 50 years I still have to live: never without snuff.
@Mynheer: Looks GOOD. As you can see the oldies are still going strong.

@snuffmiller, They sure do. And I love it!
And there’s more of them: http://rinconpipa.foroactivo.com/t3239-samuel-gawith-reportaje-fotografico-de-marcelino-piquero
The article refers to Snuffhouse as a “keen, swotty community.” I didn’t know what swotty meant, so I looked it up. Apparently, it is British slang for “given to studying hard, esp. to the exclusion of other activities,” according to one dictionary. Reading through these threads, there are definitely some swotty practitioners who really know their stuff … er, snuff.
Great pix of S. Gawith factory. It would be really great to have a tour of the place, and hopefully get to buy some freshly made snuff. After looking at the photos I now realize I need to try Otterhound, and Richt Kind! Those are two SG snuffs I have never tried.
@mrmanos, if you order Otterhound be sure to buy the small tin, it is heavily scented.
@nostalgicnose Here in the Southern US (at least in my area) calling someone swotty would get a, “What the hell you just call me, boy?” Probably followed by an ass kicking unless you can explain yourself quickly. However, that is an interesting definition of that word and one that I think is very typical of this place.
@hgrissom - um, yeah, I live in Buford, GA, and I don’t think anybody around here would appreciate being called swotty. Sounds derogatory in these parts!
@nostalgicnose hour north of Charlotte NC here. Grew up just south of Albany, GA though
