Anyone else do this? Sometimes I can’t help but squeeze it, push it around, mold it into a shape, or push it down with my finger. It’s remiscent of that scene in the movie Amelie where she puts her hand in the bag of seeds as one of life’s little pleasures.

Toque’s snuff is fun to push down on in the tin, it’s a soft fluffy spongy feeling. The 50 gram tins of F&T are good too as you can do it without making a mess. WoS snuff tends to fall out of the tin so it gets away with it, in fact I can’t even open a tin without the stuff flying everywhere. I’ve heard you should try to keep oils from your fingers off your snuff but I keep my hands clean and I’m not too bothered. When I’ve finished playing with it I just shake the tin or mix it around with my snuff spoon to get it back to normal. It’s a funny habit I’ve noticed myself doing

I don’t play with the snuff itself, but I play with the container alot. I’ve been using an old cleaned out dip tin for a snuffbox untill a few days ago, and I’ve found myself constantly playing with it, turning it over and over in my hand, ect…and it’s only increaced since I got my snuffbox since it has such a nice feel in the hand.

nah, not me … if i am not decanting … a lid stays on all my snuff.  and i try to decant as quickly as possible … paranoid about overall exposure to air i guess.  8-}

I play with my snuffbox all the time. I used to play with my zippo when I smoked so I guess the snuffbox has taken over that  role.

@joshua2007…I do exactly the same, for the same reasons. When I quit smoking I always felt something was missing. I didn’t figure it out until I bought my first snuffbox and caught myself toying with it. One of those epiphany moments. 

The only “playing” that I do is to shake my wooden snuff boxes in a habitual de-clumping maneuver.

Toque tins are great for reusing, and I always find myself packing them like with a dip tin. That way I can get a nice half moon shape in the tin to grab a pinch off of.

@dakotas I do that with all my pinchable snuff containers.  The toque ones are the best when you can grab just the right pinch of snuff off that sharp edge a good packing leaves in the tin.  I also do that to check how much snuff I have left in a box.  I’m not good at guessing it when it’s just roaming about loose in the container.

Well there are only so many things you can talk about on one subject before it starts getting odd.

My mind immediately flew to the above review when I read the thread title. I play with the tins themselves all the time. I once sat an entire exam spinning a tin of Ozona Raspberry. Needless to say that did not end well for me.

I’ve just realized how filthy this all is. I just ‘use’ my snuff for snuffual gratification, and to make myself feel ‘complete’.

I’m playing with 6,7,even sometimes over 10 tins of snuff a day. I just use them and throw them out like they mean nothing to me and they don’t deserve that.

They don’t have a snuff tobacco rehab, so I’m going to a sexual addiction rehab and hopefully when I come out I’m going to start treating my snuff with the delicate respect it deserves and having a proper relationship with it. The cheating with other snuffs has to stop. I knew it was a problem when I was caught with 3 snuffs at the same time.

I’m back on track now. I did sneak out one night and had a snuff orgy and a snuffdance but I went straight back. I’ve also quit snuffographic magazines. That was hard because there’s nothing better than looking at a load of snuff with its top off.

I’ve been in a relationship with one snuff now for a week and it’s going good - her name’s Rose. I haven’t even looked at another snuff since I’ve been with her.

No. And not with any kind of tobacco either. I knew few tricks with matches though, that was customary when I was growing up, real men used matches and ‘played’ with them.

Yes, like single hand light up from a matchbox. It’s actually quite difficult but matches aren’t same as they used to be.

No, I’m not a snuff prude. No, I don’t poke around in my piles of snuff; in fact I expose snuff as little as possible to the elements. I want it to be as close to as-milled as I can get it. I’ve learned that’s the most flavorful way. But there’s nothing quite satisfying in the same way as taking a hearty pinch of snuff between warm fingers and feeling it fly up the nose. Ahhh…
