is there any correlation to grind of snuff and nicotine absorption like will you generally get more nicotine or nicotine hit from a fine grind than either a medium or coarse grid? ive wondered about this it seems like it would because the finer grind has the ability to cover the inside the nose as opposed to medium or coarse grind also does moisture play a fact into this ie more moist the snuf the more nicotine content that gets into your blood as opposed to dry or is it vice versa. im wondering i made a pound of snuff using pipe tobacco and im trying to find out which works better for nicotine delievery and is the most potent. im wondering so because of scenting if its better to have a slightly moist or dry snuff or the other way around. thank you for your time and answers are appreciated
Strangely enough I’ve found coarse moist snuff deliver more nicotine. It might be that being moist it develops the “tobacco soup”, for want of better words, in the nose and from this one draws the nicotine. On the times I have tried fine dry snuffs they just seem to dry out my nose or irritate it to the extreme, so you would have to ask someone who is into the fine dry stuff for their views on that type of snuff.

Finer grind snuff appear to give more nicotine as the uptake is faster than coarse snuff. But past the initial rush it can go eiher way depending on the base tobaccos used.
I think lunecat makes a fine pint here. You see it is logical that finer snuff would get the nicotine into the body more quickly, just that I have never found that to be the case. This might be that I take bigger pinchers of coarse snuff than when I take finer snuff. It might also be different people reacting differently to different snuffs?

I think this may be the true reason you feel coarse snuffs deliver more nicotine. I have read in another thread " Fine dry snuffs, just cannot take them", where you say “There is no way in the world I can take fine dry snuff.” If you were able to compare like with like sized pinches of fine compared to coarse then it is possible you may change your feeling that coarse snuff deliver more nicotine than fine ones. I feel either can deliver good amounts of nicotine, but the speed of the effect can vary depending on grind.
I might give fine dry snuff again but I just CANNOT get it too far up my nose but that seems to be what fine dry snuff do with me. Many of them smell very nice, I will admit that.
