Snuff for your Vitamin N?

Hi all, was wondering how many fo you only use snuff as your daily allowance for nicotine. I use snus to compliment mine depending on stress level, but was wondering how well snuff works as the only means to get by. For me, this is just a quest to control my nicotine level because too much snus can really have my head spinning and heart racing. I love both but have been trying to cut back just a bit.

Most of the time I use snuff for my regular nic intake. I use twist occasionally and a couple pipes a day but snuff is the staple. Viking Dark is a good tobacco flavored snuff and I still get a good buzz from it for some reason. Scotches are excellent sources of nicotine as well. Even SPs or toasts will deliver nicotine quickly and effectively because of the finer grind. I think Viking Dark is actually fairly strong and since it’s coarser the nicotine delivery is slower and the buzz extended.

Oh yeah and since it’s made with rustica Dragun delivers a good dose and it’s a snuff every snuffer needs to experience. I wasn’t all that impressed until I put it in a snuffbox. Now that just might be the dragun box. Come to think of it @mrsnuff a snuffbox with the dragun logo. There’s an idea for you.

I really don’t get a hit of nicotine like I did when I smoked a cigarette after not having a smoke for a few hours. This is just my experience with Toque and 6 photo. What I do get is relief from “jonesing” from nicotine withdrawl. I can take a couple pinches and it goes away. I do enjoy a good nic punch though so I use dip for that. I really enjoy dip but it will be next on the list to go. I think snuff will be with me for the rest of my life because it is so damn enjoyable.

I’m a recovering dipper and I’ve found the only way to stay off of the Grizzly is to take huge pinches. So far so good. I’ve also found that keeping a high nic snuff like Fubar Snafu on hand helps, it’s usually how I start the day.

I use snuff as my only source of nicotine. Long term ryo smoker, then a year or so of pipes and snuff. I find snuff satisfies all of my vitamin N requirements, now.

Snuff no, i snuff a pipe I snuff some dip I snuff cigars I snuff some snus.I twist ryo and snuff that too. So snuff yes Snuff is where I get all my vitamin N. did I forget snuff. It’s doable

I started smoking when I was sixteen and was up to a pack a day of Marb reds within the first few months. Needless to say, I was nicotine traumatized early on. I’ve quit with snuff and the occasional snus, although I still find the delivery of snus to be a bit much…can give you the shakes from time to time. I use scotches and toasts for my main vitamin N intake.

I use snus to keep the nicotine jones away and snuff for pure enjoyment. I can use snuff exclusively but man I go through a ton of it without the snus.

I was skeptical I could get enough nicotine from snuff when I first came over from cigarettes. Now I believe there’s plenty of nicotine in snuff. I take a pipe now and then, but I feel less nicotine from most pipe tobacco than I get from snuff, even strong pipe tobaccos. @cstokes4 is right. The key is to take bigger pinches. Every single snuff available has plenty of nicotine if you take a big pinch.

i really really really would love to have snuff be my vitamin N … economically speaking as well as better flavor/scent over the various flavors of snus … but i can’t seem to perform that transition. i have an ettan in the lip almost all day … 40 minutes in, 30 minutes out, on and on … i can go through a can of ettan in 1 1/2 days … love the flavor. i probably need to set aside a day at home, no kids or obligations, and see if i can’t make the shift from snus to snuff … sounds like the general consensus of this thread is that vitamin N is plenty in snuff, alone. what is the duration between pinches for all of you … 20 minutes? 30? 60?

Thunder Frosted and Skruf stark loose and portions are my snuses (snusi?) of choice and it took me a lot of experimentation to find what I like as far as snus goes. Now I am on a mission to narrow down my snuff preferences. I’ve discovered that plainer toasts/scotches are what I’m liking most. Since I’ve been using more toasts and scotches my snus to snuff ratio has gone from 90:10 to 70:30 and snuff is closing the gap more as I find more snuffs that will become part of my regular rotation. I can see that snuff could become a sole source of nicotine. A few months ago I would have been skeptical.

Just began snuffing 3 days ago, but I decided that I will only smoke 1-2 cigs a day and have stuck to one so far. I’m hoping that snuff will be my one and only within the next few weeks.

also snus too. But when useing just snuff my time between pinches is really really random. A minute to over an hour. I take pinchs before the craving gets painfull too. Snuff seems slightily less consistent in it’s nicotine delivery for me. Sometimes a small pinch will rock me for a time, while other times a huge pinch needs to be followed by a huge pinch before waiting a minute for another huge pinch. It is complex and wine is flowing well tonight so…

I did a couple of big pinches of Devoe Sweet last night and I got the hiccups like you get when you stomach dip juice. I had a nice head rush from the nicotine as well. I think I have been cycling through some of the lower octane snuffs lately that when I did the devoe it rocked my world. I have mostly been using F&T and SG snuffs for the past week and no snafu or american scotches so maybe my tolerance has gone down. I also haven’t had a can of dip in two weeks. No doubt the American snuffs pack a punch.

There have been days where I use snuff exclusively and I feel completely satisfied. Normally though I will use snus and a pipe too. It is nice to know that snuff will do the trick if need be.
