I always take a small breath before sniffing some snuff, to stop getting snuff in my lungs. However I still get a bit of a cough from snuff taking, most often at night when trying to sleep. Does anyone else get this?

not a cough, but phlegm. But in fairness to snuff, I also have snus almost everyday. So who knows. Fairly heavy pipe smoking always had a cough.

I think that with fine dry snuffs great care should be taken to avoid getting them in the lungs. With more coarse or moist snuff I don’t think it is an issue.

My guess is it’s probably not from getting snuff in the lungs, but more from post nasal drip. It doesn’t take a whole lot to create a tickle in the throat, resulting in a cough.

It could be cancer cells growing and dividing, but no, what ^ said. Ha!
