Snuff Boxes From The Smithsonian, Washington DC

Here are my pictures from the Smithsonian, if anyone wants them without the watermark, feel free to email me.

@cstokes4 after looking I can’t help but wonder if it was some later contender using the image of Jefferson to associate with himself.

Did that last one belong to Napoleon? Its very ornate.

I can’t remember what the story was behind the last one.  I think I have the pictures of the cards at home.

I was wrong about the snuff box, it was actually Andrew Jackson’s from 1828.  I must be getting old.

Here is a link with more info:  http://americanhistory.si.edu/presidency/4c2_c.html

Jackson had a snuffbox with his own picture on it?? I always knew he was an ass.

Oh no. I see your link.  Its a commemmorative piece, probably from one of his war victoiries.  Ok, well, still I wouldn’t want it.  I don’t want any $20 bills either.  Or $10 ones with that other ass for that matter.  Please no PMs, I’m not giving away money.

Haha, I hear ya.  I can imagine looking out of the windows of the White House and seeing his statue every morning.  Blech!

It could be worse.  They could have a nude statue of Taft.

Why don’t we have tubby presidents any more?  It would be nice to see press conference where the president was munching on some chips while people were asking questions.

“Can you repeat the question?  These Funyuns are just so damn good that I kinda lost myself in them for a moment.”

Back on topic:

My favorite is probably # 3, it seems like that would be somewhat easy to make if one had the right tools.  Maybe a project for later on down the road.

Back off topic @Dogwalla Lyndon Johnson used to give press conferences while sitting on the toilet, so not that long ago. ugh.

@Xander Hahahahaha!

I had no idea.

That brings up a whole slew of entirely inappropriate responses that I won’t post, but it was awesome to have a good laugh so early in the morning.
