I found these at a discount tobacco outlet for the whopping price of 89 cents per 100 count. They’re made of cellulose and are very absorbent. It looks like they are also impervious to mold and other nasty beasties. All that need be done is dip the filter in your choice of fluid; distilled water, essences, essential oils or my favorite-booze. They keep snuff fresh in a snuff box for several days depending on globalistic warminating and the latest Al Gore missive. Some snuff does stick to the filter but is easily brushed off with a quick swipe of a clean finger. I’ve had a single filter lightly moistened with Irish Whisky in a snuffbox of SG Blue Crest. After a week the snuff is fluffy, light and slightly moistened. Excellent value, cheaper than Q-tips and more reliable than wads of tissue. The addition of a drop or two of propylene glycol will help regulate the humidity in the box. In my usual demented state I’m considering making some concentrated tobacco tea and dipping one of these for placement betwixt cheek and gum. Will advise when I’m released from the emergency room or psychiatric observation facility.
Your constant experimenting reminds me when I use too. Always fidgeting with things till they are just right or. completely broken. Hopefully you don’t break too many things or, make them looks ghetto as much as I did.
I just don’t share the disasters. With anyone. Ever.
This is a great idea. I just tossed about a gram of SG Vanilla that I had in a plastic Rococo snuff box. I had forgotten about it for a couple weeks and it turned into a gravel like substance. Now I can carry the moister snuffs without the worry of them drying too quickly.
@willc I dipped one of those filters in some good vanilla extract after reading your post. We’ll see how it works with SG Chocolate this afternoon. Cheers
Great idea @chefdaniel! Thank you. I am going to try it!
@chefdaniel You want dip it in a decent single malt and drop it into Whiskey and honey or Mull of Oa
@Derek_007 damn good idea. I’ve a bottle of Talisker that can spare a few drops. It may be sacrilege to put in Mull of Oa and Toast & Honey, so I’ll only do a small amount lest I get struck by lightning. I will have to accidentally spill some across my lips in the interest of scientific research of course.
Lightning (white lightning.) makes me wonder if moonshine would be a bad snuff flavor.
George Dickel has a 91 proof Tennessee White Corn Whisky…sounds like white lightning to me. It’s also damn good in a Julep
I grew some wild tobacco seed some one told me was Aztec type origins, I dried it in stable and months after it entered my head to just chew a little amount size of an M and M. It really was strong and I mean strong strong. Only time I have been close to throwing up, even smoking cheap cigars after school never had so much nicotine from memory. After that I never experimented with it much again. However I very recently read that the original tobacco was super strong and was consumed in smaller amounts. Wonder if one of you intrepid experimenters might grow some native tobacco and make some snuff from it? Proberbly blow your socks off! Oh and my stash? I made into some diy insecticide, it killed small black and green fly very effectively…
I had to look up George Dickel. I have never had any but, heard of it. Anyways this picture was the first thing I saw. Made me chuckle a little.
I think ol’ Hag’s done a few too many glasses of Dickel. Still sounds great, so whatever works.

@Hoopei - Try dressing a pipe or roll-up with a little Toque rustica = same experience There’s an indigenous people somewhere [Thailand] that smoke little pipes of rustica after a heavy meal. I recall @Basement_shaman posting on it many moons ago.
That’s interesting.thx

that’s interesting thanks I worked in UAE and was curious seeing Arab locals smoking type pipes made of stone with a tiny bowl, it was definitely tobacco and I used to think that must be only a couple of drags on a cig, wonder if they where smoking same stuff? I did like smoking water pipes in cafe after work…
@Hoopei - I think you will find the pipes that you saw in UAE were medwakh pipes containing dokha tobacco - very traditional in the Middle East and becoming popular in the West.

Is it very strong stuff then? Just wondering
I have never tried it but given how small the pipe bowls are I guess it is probably very strong, I am sure there are some people on this forum who use it and they could give you more info. There is a bit of a thread about here on the forum: http://snuffhouse.org/discussion/comment/309808#Comment\_309808
