Snuff and Your Seasonal Allergies

I tried, with no luck, finding where I read this, but I hear that partaking of snuff could help your seasonal allergies. My guess would be that by covering a significant surface area of your nostrils with the magnificent tobacco flour, you reduce the amount of allergens that can attach and ruin your day. Any of you experienced snuffers, who also might have some allergies, have some personal experience with anything like this? I personally don’t experience terrible seasonal allergies, but a good friend of mine gets reduced to a sniffling pile when the flowers bloom and the trees start mating…

Snuff definitely helps my allergies, it alleviates them but doesn’t completely cure them. Snuff is also really good for headaches and migraines. One of my friends suffers from that and treats it with snuff.

I had started a discussion on this just a few weeks ago. I have experienced two major sinus benefits since I started snuffing multiple times a day. 1) My sinus allergies have disappeared (not just seasonal, but even my allergies to dust mites), and the drying that leads to nose bleeds (from an inflammatory condition) has not given me any problems either. The best explanation I have been able to glean is the increased discharge has acted as a flushing agent to prevent the absorption of the allergens, and also acted as a moisturizer for the drying.

Nice, yeah I’ve noticed the headache relief…I love it at the end of the work day in my car. Used to hate driving with a headache in traffic

Sorry if this is a repeat thread, to be honest I didnt think to search for an existing thread…oops :frowning: I’m gonna take the replies I get here and see if he might want to think about snuff as a means to cope with his allergies. Besides it being incredibly enjoyable, I think he could significantly benefit from snuff

I’ve been having an allergy problem lately, with a sore throat and the like, but snuff certainly alleviates it, especially the scotches and toasts.

Let him google the health risks of nasal snuff himself - no-one ever believes me when I tell 'em it’s virtually zilch! I find a pinch of WoS Jockey Club before bed opens my nasal passages really well, I get a better nighst sleep now than I have for years. Looking forward to seeing if snuff can keep the hayfever at bay. I reckon it will.

I’m wondering what the effects will be for myself too. I am pleasantly surprised that I have taken to the floral snuffs, as I was a little concerned it would have a psychsomatic effect and trigger my hayfever by association

My wife, a non-smoker, has severe allergies, sinus infections, and serious asthma. A few months ago she started sampling my snuff stash and noticed an immediate relief of most of her symptoms. Just some anecdotal information, but it works for her; she loves the Indian snuffs and heads for a menthol first thing in the morning to clear her sinuses.

My asthma started to ease once I started smoking, and your mrs has less nasal irritation when she starts stuffing powder up there. Ironic thing tobacco isn’t it :-?

snuff has practicaly removed my allergies.

For the last 4 years, I have not had to take any allergy medications. Previous to that, I had to take 2 Zyrtec per day, prescribed by the doctor. Snuff has been outstanding for my allergy symptoms.

There are some great replies here! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but its clear that snuff has helped quite a few of you out. Thanks Everyone!
