Unless you’re eating your snuff, I don’t see a problem. If it were me, I would likely continue with my snuff usage. As for the lack of understanding between oral tobacco and nasal snuff, I hear ya!
@thorgimnr Yeah I guess I am kind of borrowing trouble so I will just keep snuffing and see what happens. Thanks.
I think you’ll be fine. I had a wisdom tooth pulled and kept on snuffing. Started dipping about 3 days after, because it helped numb the gum. Don’t know if that was the best idea though…
@dakotas umm, I am not sure that I should listen to a man who started dipping after wisdom tooth removal, lol. Do you still have a jawbone or did the dip help with that too…grin.
“Dry Sockets” from smoking after tooth removal is the only time I’ve heard you should refrain from tobacco use.
When I had my wisdoms yanked, the nurse said that if I REALLY had to smoke, I should just bite down on a folded/rolled up square of guaze and keep my mouth shut while smoking. Had no probs, seemed to work like a charm. Hope that might help.
Thanks Mr. O that makes sense. Whenever I sniff I will make sure to keep my mouth tightly shut and bit on the gauze.
Good! I wish you luck with speedy recovery!
Thanks for the well wishes Mr. O and a Happy Easter or Ostara or just plain Sunday to you.
Thank’s! All I know is it’s a family day
I had some molars removed last year and the year before. With one of the top ones a hole was created connecting my nasal and oral cavities. If I swished water in my mouth, I could get it to come out my right nostril. I immediately stopped snuffing in that side. I returned to the dentist who was very concerned about cross contamination. Apparantly the bacteria that live in one side should not intermingle with those on the other side, or infections will result. I was warned not to blow my nose or sneeze and otherwise not disturb it until it was healed. Everything is fine now, but be forewarned that this happens in 1/1000 cases (according to the dentist) if you are having anupper tooth removed, particularly one towards the back of the mouth.
Thanks Xander but all my work is being done on the bottom so no worries about that part.
@greencrow still got my jaw, for now
Good to hear dakotas. The torturer will get me in the morning so we’ll see how everything goes. Thanks to all for the advice, yes even you dakotas, grin.
